How old were you when you got your period and where?

I was just wondering. I got mine when I was, Um... in 8th grade. And I was in school and it sucked really bad! LOL! I think I was 14. Yes I was! Isn't that kind of late to get it? That must be why I have no friggin boobs

I think I was in 7th grade...so that would make me 13 I guess.
I'm pretty sure I was in gym class.
Then I had to go home and get "the womanhood talk" from my mother. *gag me* I just tuned her out.

Oh, my mom gave me that 'talk' a few months before I got mine. She wanted me to be prepared, just incase, because she was going away for a couple weeks. 
I got mine when I was 12 (on November 1st, 1999, I believe). I got it in my sleep, and I woke up to a lovely suprise.  I did get to miss the morning of school, though, while my mom explained to me what pads I should use and stuff.
The week before I got it, in Science class at school, we were doing this experiment, and I told my friends 'I think I'm going to pass out!' and ran to the washroom. I felt all dizzy and nauseous, and the school secretary came in to check on me, before she phoned my mom. I remember she asked 'Is it pre-menstrual syndrome?' and I told her no.
Later, when my friend asked me what it was, I said it had something to do with your period, and then we laughed about it, because I thought it had nothing to do with that at all (since I'd never had it).
Ah, I miss those care-free days.

I was 11 (yeah I know, pretty early). And it was a weekend. That's all I remember really. My mom had already bought me a shit load of pads like a year before, and I had them in a big box in my room. Ha ha. When I got it, my mom found out a couple days later and I started crying because I didn't want to grow up. Then she was showing me how to use pads, and she's like 'It's just like an areoplane!'.

lol snail that sounds exactly like me too!
I got my during friday afternoon sport in grade 5 and I was 11! I sat out because I felt so sick and when I got home I realised why I felt so sick! hehee
I cried too because I didn't want to grow up either!

I was in 7th grade and it started out my house. It was nothing big, and pretty light, it must have only lasted 3 days max. My period hasn't been too big of a pain until recently... now I'm getting the cramps to go along with it.
I was wearing khaki pants at school one of the first few times.

I was just barely 13 and I was... ...er... doing some not so good things in the shower if you catch my drift... 
That's going to stay with me for all my life...

It was the summer after sixth grade and I had just turned twelve. (My birthday's 7th June and it was 17th June - Father's Day.) I just remember being such a mature pre-teen and watching cartoons  on a Saturday morning and going upstairs to the bathroom and finding out. I didn't really get a talk from my mother but she told me what to use and everything.

i got my period when i was 12 and i never told my mom till 4 months later. i was really scared. it's funny thinking about now. heehee. I forgot to put where....at home on the weekend so it wasnt' that bad.

In seventh grade when I was twelve was the time I became a woman, so to speak. (And then a man after that surgery...ah, but that is for another thread.) I was sitting on the bus thinking that I felt a bit weird and then I went to the bathroom and wasn't really sure what was going on because it looked more brown than red and I wondered if I had managed to crap my pants without knowing. But that was just at the beginning: several hours later, it turned to red. I was relieved and annoyed at the same time.
I used to use pads too, now I use tampons.

I've never gotten stains whilst out in public, but last thursday at school i did on the back of my dress. Luckily it was a warm day and I just wore my jumper around my waist. 
Anyways...I got mine when I was in year 8. So, I would have been...um *thinks*...13 I think. Although, it was august and I turned 14 that september, so it was pretty late (well, compared too all my friends, most of which got theirs in primary school.) I was at home, thank god, and mum had already got some pads "just in case". Although, she got light ones, and it was really heavy for the first few cycles, especially at night - quite often I;d have to change my pad 3 times per night, and we're talking thick, overnight pads here.
Anyway, my periods have calmed down now - they'll usually only go for 5 days, and they're never heavy, really. Although, probably saying that now will jinx me.
Also, when my period was heavier, I used to have dreadful cramps, and I wouldn't feel like doing anything. I don't get them that much now, but when I do it's not a big deal because I;ve discovered the god that is nurofen.

That ki8nda happened to me, too. About a month before I got my period, I had a bit of spotting that was really brown, there was hardly any of it and so I didn't need to use pads really, coz it wasn't noticable. I remember feeling scared and not wanting to talk to mum about it, so I went on the libra site and they have this email thing, where you can ask anything about periods etc, so I did that to find out what was going on. Lol.

Wow your was that heavy? OUCH! Mine was too when I first got it. Now it only lasts like 4 days at the most, but as it is ending, it gets to the piont were there is nothing there and then all od a sudden it's like..Hello  And it gets heavy for like..Only an hour or so..Weird rigth?
