Oh well, it could be worse. We could do a time warp back to 2000, back in the day where every hit song was written by some person like Max Martin. Ah, Max Martin. Didn't he have a cameo in Britney Spears' video for 'Oops!... I Did It Again'? Hmmm... maybe because he wrote it. I know he wrote for NSync too, and I think the Backstreet Boys and Christina Aguleria. Same with that Rami guy. I don't remember the names of any of the other writers. Why should I?
Fast forward to the present: Britney Spears has dumped her bubblegum pop lyricist and picked up failed-attempt-at-a-band turned songwriting team The Matrix to help her become a more 'mature' artist. Ha ha ha ha! That's like dumping the class nerd who does your homework for a college professor, in attempt to personally become smarter. What a joke.
Well, at least Amy Lee writes her own lyrics. Well, I think she did with Ben Moody, anyway. Too bad he left, who's she gonna call? The Matrix? Let me just say... hopefully not. If she does, it's all going to go downhill from there.

Aren't these threads suppose to be constructive?  I wonder if that's why there isn't a thread about American Idol(that I've seen...). Heh.
I personally like Evanescence. It's fun to type. Evanescence. Hah. Okay, I'm weird.
My favourite song is actually "Hello". Maybe I'm just weird or morbid like that, but that's the one I always turn to if I just want to hear one song.
But yeah, I like them. I think they're a good band. I like their sound, though instrumentally they don't seem to be -fantastic-. Just...good enough.

Oh, there were threads for American Idol, Clay Aiken, and I think there was a Kelly Clarkson thread long ago... but they seem to have sunk down to the second page and beyond.
But seriously, I haven't heard anything about Kelly Clarkson for months (not that I'm complaining). Anyway, her recording label is going to drop her eventually.
I think writing for artists like Kelly and Avril would be such a slack job. As long as it pays well (and I'm assuming it does), I suppose it wouldn't be all that bad. I'd do it, just for the money. I'd get myself a pen-name, or whatever you call those things, just so no one would know it was me... otherwise I'd probably find it slightly embarassing.

evanessance.......
i absolutly adore her voice....so beautiful and pure. I don't own her album....even though i should....but i do think she has a gift because i think her voice is....unique in some way.....
and about the american idol.....i dont care for Kelly Clarkson.....but i do love Clay....but i dont know if he has wat it takes to go.....really far in the music buisness.....he needs to start writing his own music....

I was just wondering why there was no thread for the Evanescence... there is, but it's in the middle pages! (it was in page 9).
I'm actually linstening to Fallen 7 or 8 times a day..  I also try to sing along, but Amy's voice is too much for me!
Music and voice are just so exciting, but their lyrics are kind of strange (at least for me). They referr many times to suicide... mmh I don't like this. They say (on their sites) that's supposed to make the people feel they're not alone with their bad thoughts, so they (think) are doing a positive job.  I'm not so sure.
Anyway it gives you a lot of energy while you're listening!
As for my fav song, they are Going Under, Bring me to life, Immortal, Tourniquet, Taking over me and Hello.

Evanescence are ok, but i prefer Linkin Park.
And i feel sorry for Avril Lavinge. She tries way too hard to be cool and punk (and fails miserably), and her voice is VERY annoying. its sad.
