Best of 2008!

Seeing as we're nearing the end of the year, I thought it might be interesting if people could say what was the best things they've heard this year, whether it's a single or an album!
For me personally, I'd have to say the albums 'Konk' by the Kooks and 'Here We Stand' by the Fratellis, and the single 'Mercy' by Duffy.
Your turn!

I dont really keep up to date with new stuff but Britneys 'Womanizer' single stands out for me. The rest of her album is ok but that song is the best on it

I think Britney Spears made an amazing comeback this year, but since she´s not done coming back yet, I´m not nominating her.
Oh no, I think I should... Because there are so many artists that have surprised me...

Okay, so I came up with a "BEST OF 2008".
I just can't pick now lol.
I nominate both Chris Brown and Lil' Wayne And I think ya'll should vote for them. I think they've both done incredibly well last year, it was Lil' Waynes released 3 hit singles. They were all amazing and a lot of people loved them.
Chris Brown did good too this year, with also 3 hit singles, which were amazing and loved by many.

Quote from: ~*Lorie*~ on January 12, 2009, 06:22:16 pm I don't base my decision of "best" by how many people liked them, because I have my own chart that has little to do with billboards.

I some sort of agree with you. It IS important what YOU think of them, but I think when it comes to saying who's the BEST OF 2008, that you should definitely look at the overall score. I think it's important to see what others think of the artist, because if you think a band is totally hot and nobody knows/likes them, that makes them not the best of 2008, you see? But I agree, this thread is about your own taste, I guess

I know and I do alot. Back in the days (OMG... like it's been ages lol) where I listened to like punk/rock music (like 6 months ago, lol) I used to go to MySpace and look for starting bands and I have actually discovered The Maine that way and they were amazing so I stuck to them. I actually had contact with John, the lead singer, which was totally amazing, we messaged each other back and forth... But that's a whole different story
I agree with you though, on some level
