Do not speak to us of the greatness of poetry, Of the torches wisping in the underground, Of the structure of vaults upon a point of light. There are no shadows in our sun, Day is desire and night is sleep. There are no shadows anywhere.

Mine are:
US:(They Long to Be) Close to You by The Carpenters
UK: The Wonder of You by Elvis Presley
The Carpenters one makes me so happy. It actually says in the lyrics:
On the day that you were born the angels got together and decided to create a dream come true.

The U.K. No.1 on the 30th November 1987 was... China In Your Hand by T'pau
The U.S. No.1 on the 30th November 1987 was... (I've Had) the Time of My Life by Jennifer Warnes and Billy Medley
Dear god help me! I've never even heard of the U.K. one. The U.S. one is okay, as far as I can remember. Damn you 1987! Damn you!

U.S. : Say Say Say by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson Before the controversy, methinks. U.K. : Uptown Girl by Billy Joel
I find it ironic and amusing that there's a British guy topping the American charts and an American guy topping the British charts.

some of the ones for the lads seem pretty appropriate... how funny is orli's "when a child is born" ... maybe im laughing at nothing again
mine for 31st of oct 1986 is..... Every Loser Wins by Nick Berry-UK True Colors by Cyndi Lauper-US
interesting...
no f*cking clue how every loser wins goes... but maybe it means im a winning loser *scratches head*
does however give me an excuse to sing true colours in whiny voice... ahhh OMG elijah singing true colours *rolls on floor in hysterics* .... wow... another mysteriously elijah related coincidence... and i thought i was a dom girl now

that africa song is frigging annoying... the radio stations in new zealand are obsessed with it... one of the few reasons i was happy my holliday there came to an end was i no longer had to hear that bloody song.... it drove me insane for 11 days
the other one... well thats an aussie band... i actually sang that in choir bout 3 years ago.... care for a rendition ...ehem
Traveling in a fried-out combie On a hippie trail, head full of zombie I met a strange lady, she made me nervous She took me in and gave me breakfast And she saaaaaid,
Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can’t you hear, can’t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.
Buying bread from a man in brussels He was six foot four and full of muscles I said, do you speak-a my language? He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich And he said,
I come from a land down under Where beer does flow and men chunder Can’t you hear, can’t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.
Lying in a den in bombay With a slack jaw, and not much to say I said to the man, are you trying to tempt me Because I come from the land of plenty? And he said,
Oh! do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah) Where women glow and men plunder? Can’t you hear, can’t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.
interesting song that..... definately interesting
