Update on forum revamp
Thanks to everyone who left feedback on how to refresh our forum. We all would like something up to date that will allow members to be more active but changing the software won't just bring the forum to a standstill, it will eliminate everything! Comments, threads, members... poof!
The forum has been around for ten years and it wouldn't do much good to wipe all that time away.
However, we know the current software is outdated and a new look would be welcome, so we pose a couple of options.
1) Keep the current software as it is but adding fresh colors, graphics and fonts.
2) Go ahead with a new software service and with your help, pay for those services that will move all contents over without loosing anything.
So, this is where it stands for the time being. Once again we ask for your input and feedback on the above choices.

Option 1 (cosmetic change) is fine by me. I think it would be best not to change the way in which you navigate through the board too much. People would become confused.
If you choose for option 2, I would be willing to contribute with the costs.
The poll and video suggestions from another member seem a good idea.

A poll would be a good idea 
But I would go for option 1 as I like the navigation of the forum page as it is.

it would be a one time payment if the second option was voted on. anyone willing to chip in, they would pay whatever they could. we would keep the payments open until we reach the amount of the software, which according to jochen could be as much as $500.00.
jochen would know more on how it would work but this is my understanding.

Since the best solution for the forum is to revamp it instead of shelling out lots of money that's contributed by members, sometime within the next few weeks we will be changing the skins.
We know you have grown to like certain images and colors but what's a fresh look without some changes? The biggest change that will occur is the banner header. Besides the default banner, the other skins will be changed. We did our best to at least keep the color scheme within those skins so you can still have the mood you like. So if you see a difference when you log on, that's what's happening.
Hopefully within time Jochen will take a look at the more technical side of the forum and make his changes there.

such a long time I've been here... I forgot writting in english wich is not my language but I have to come back here when I saw elijah in the hobbit I remembered this wonderfull website... I'm happy to see an Old Lady is always (and forever !) here. I hopeshe will recognize her and a big hugg if she can read this...
