I keep getting logged out as soon as I look at one topic I get automatically logged out. I've checked and it's not my timer logging me out. Can you help please?

When you log in, do you tick the box where it says: Always stay logged in? If you don't tick that box, you will keep getting logged out.

Victoria, when you log in, there's a box that says "session length in minutes". Could you please check that and put it to 240.
Carina, it has nothing to do with the "always stay logged in" box. I never tick it and the system always keeps me logged in for 240 minutes which I think is the maximum as well.

Hmm, there was a time when I always got kicked out if I didn't tick that box, but I just checked it (after I read your post) and I'm still logged in. That's good to know - thanks!

The always stay logged in box hasn't worked for about a year or something. I remember when i used to tick that and never ever get logged out, ever. But i don't think that works anymore.

The time is OK I checked that before posting here. Maybe it was a message that I spend too much time here!

I think the board logs you out after a certain time. If you've been on for two hours plus, it logs you out. Used to happend to me all the time. Or sometimes when my computer hung or I couldn't come on for some reason or other, a few hours later, I'd check and its logged out. Anyway, I never checked that box before. LOL hope that made sense.

Don't you hate it when you type up a long post, and then hit the button and you get logged out! That's happened to me too much.
I have no idea why, but Morgan's A+F remembers his username, so when he goes to the login page "MrFishPillow" is already there. Anyone know how I can get mine to do that? I have to type it in everytime.

If you tick "always stay logged in", the browser saves a cookie with your information. (It does work - I've tested it) You need not log out again and whenever you come to the site you're logged in automatically. The problem is when your browser is set to delete all cookies upon closing (my Firefox does that, my IE doesn't).
But with the login page... hmmm... so that you only have to type the password? I don't know. You could ask Morgan about the browser and the settings.
*weird...have I typed this before somewhere? I'm having a deja-vu right now *

Okay, I get it now. Morgan uses Firefox, and I use Internet Explorer.
Thanks for your help, Doremi and Yeux.

I used to use Internet Explorer, then I just needed to type my password. But then I changed to Opera, and now I don't need to type in anything
I never had the problem with getting kicked off...
