Having people vote for the fan fic of the month is a great idea!
That way readers of a story they love have a chanceto help it get recognised.
I hope this idea is considered!

Its great to hear that some of you would like to become judges. Currently, the only judges left are myself, Blondie (Fool Of A Took), and Petra (Pippinslova). When we started we never really held an election of any sort. We used and application and Petra, who started it, picked the judges. Those who would like to be a judge can PM myself or another judge and we'll be happy to give you some help getting it started and give you a quick run-down of how we did things.

i like the whole learning launguage thing as well! but i don't really have any ideas on what new things to do to the bored!

Haha, I'm a geek too. That sounds awesome fun to me. But I'm a language nerd, so it's to be expected.
The HOTseat was.. Well we chose a new member each week from a certain category [the first one was A+F Board Award Winners] and they have to complete a survey telling about themselves, etc. Then anyone can post in the thread, asking questions or opinions on things. If the person in the HOTseat doesn't know the answer to a question or doesn't answer one properly or skips a question, they get an embarrassing avatar or sig or something. It's a whole lot of fun. You'll see.

We had a writing contest a couple times for which I was a mod with Saura where we voted on topics and people wrote stories about the topics...if anyone was interested in doing that, I could offer my help for mod or if you want me to run it. I'm not at school right now, so I have free time. Just PM me.

Two fan fic mods - Manda (WeasleyIsMyKing) and myself have been working on this for some time. We're planning on posting a bit of information in the fan fic section in a couple days, so be sure to check that out. We've got a lot of good ideas. One being that this contest is going to be run off a subdomain of ejwsites.net. Jochen is working on the site, so once that's done we'll be ready to go!

hotseat seems really funny. Also the fic of the month.
Tough I think it's inevitable that a board so big to have slow moments sometimes. First of all, it's summer (in the boreal emisphere) and some people are on holidays now. In Europe, theaters are quite close in summer and new movies aren't released - we'll have to wait till fall for many new movies (at least in my country, Italy, and in other European country - about UK I don't know).
Secondly, I wonder sometimes if this board is too big. Obviously I'm happy we're 4800+, but simply I don't know many people of the boards - there are some I know better and other that maybe I've never heard of!
Anyway I hope A+F would ever be great.

I'm loving some of the new ideas here! The cooking section would be so cool! I love to cook!And the signature pic of the month and avatar of the month mentioned by Rai would be fun too! Wow it sucks that I don't have any ideas, I'm not an on the spot thinker.
