OMG  Our neighbors house is in the river ! We've had turrential rains and our neighbors house is under water and the rapids are so loud and we are watching the water very carefully... It is so scary and I feel so sorry for them.... another neighbor down the street has lost their barn.... it's down river inbetween trees... and the river hasn't crested yet . The horses up the street are running all around the field because they are so worried.. I am too. I hope my house isn't next.. We are up higher but someone told me the water will be rising another 5 to 6 feet... it will cover our road... We might be trapped here all night.. I so hope and pray we don't get flooded.
My friend I called who lives near a waterfall and she said her bridge is out and their out buildings are underwater ... it's so bad here... The rain keeps falling...

Frodomyhero- I hope you'll be okay. Floods are scary. Our creek behind our house has risen dangerously close to us before. I can't imagine losing my house to a flood! What a mess! I'll pray for you.

Frodomyhero, I'm so sorry about the flooding, I hope that the rain will stop soon and that your house won't be affected. I know how scary this is, our cellar (when we lived in a flat in germany) was once flooded and a fire started because our neighbours had a fridge down there among other things. I hope that things will turn out well and that your neighbours can save what they hold dear. Here in England, we are not far from the river Severn which tends to rise quite high and the people living near it always have trouble when it rains a lot. I'm thinking of you.

The water is receeding... TG
My neighbors house ..the main part.. has been spared by the flood.. but the lower part is totaled.
My other neighbor's barn is gone but his house was spared also...The water was right up to his front door but didn't go any higher.... two out of the three roads we use are flooded... so at least we have a way out.. so many people's houses are flooded around here.. It's devastating.. I've never seen anything like this since I've been here...
Luckily we were spared. I got some photos but I don't know how to put them on this site.
Anyone?

My neighbor's dog is on the front porch of the house and all around the house is turrential tides flowing by... the poor dog is just sitting on the front porch. She can't go anywhere and the water is flowing all around the house and my neighbor can't get to her... the poor thing...

thanks alot CarinalLady... I am so thankful we are not in that turrential current from the river... we have to worry about the run off BEHIND our house now... not the river IN FRONT because the runoff is all around our house but it hasn't come up to our house... There's water all around...

I am so sorry to hear that, frodomyhero. I really hope nothing bad happens to you or your family and that the problem with the water shall be solved soon...
I am not a very religious person but tonight I am praying for you... and I do believe everything will be fine and calm.

I am so touched by that...
we are lucky right now the rain has finally STOPPED. but whether the river will crest tonight... and there are so many people with houses around that are flooded..pray for them.. they lost everything. I'm surprised that noone has declared around here a disaster area because it is.....

Today we had no school .The buses couldn't get through . Two of the three roads we use to get out of the valley were closed. TG one was open. Today when I got up the water was down by 10 feet! but the mud and mess is all around! They didn't even talk about it on the news ...I couldn't believe it.!
Our water has been affected .. but our house has beenn spared. My neighbors were not so lucky. Two had their land cut through by the water and their yards are a mess. The water is still up and the current is intense still. But the mud on the roads and the roads are cut into by the water. yesterday we were on a highway that had water right up to it on BOTH sides...it was so surreal..
