I can't help but be pretty excited myself!  I mean, is there only this ten-minute short film? If it were a series of films in the same wordless style, or an animated comic of sorts, I could agree...like this, all I see is a freaking load of potential to turn this into something great. You'd have so much to expand on - who are these people, what is their world, and how did it come to be as it is? Why are these creatures fleeing and fighting those machines? (Reminded me of War of the Worlds) There's a lot of stories underneath that for someone creative, without the need to turn it into a "traditional" animated film. If they keep the follow-up of scenes as random as in the short, and the dialogue sparse and to the point, this could become awesome.
Just my two cents as someone who simply happens to love Elijah's voice-acting

Looks very very interesting... I was much confused in the beginning though. What are these little things (9, 5, etc.)? Aliens? AI?
Also, what is "9" doing in the beginning... exactly?
Regardless of my major blonde moment, the character "9" looks like a very interesting character, that I think Elijah could pull off.

Which is what I'm wondering, too, hon. I think the director wants us to puzzle over this as part of the entertainment, and I'm up for a game...since the story's supposed to be post-apocalyptic (according to Lij, anyway) we have several options here:
- aliens
- humanoid aliens
- androids (though that's doubtful 'cause their movement is so natural)
- surviving humans (they might've shrunken due to some toxic waste, which would account for the giant trash everywhere and the overalls they're all wearing)
Or something completely else...
See what I mean? It's just overboarding with the potential of stories!!!

since this thread hasn't been posted in for several months, it's obvious the movie hasn't come out. the release date has been pushed back to a more marketable date of september 9, 2009. 9-09-09.
but there's a trailer that just came out available for viewing, and it looks awesome!

It looks well done, but very dark. Of course, that is just my opinion. I am sure it will be a well done animation.

I noticed this thread was first posted in 2006 and it's going on three yrs later. Man I wouldn't have the patience to work in the movie business!

i know what you mean, but it usually takes longer on animated films. the animations are started after the voicing is done. remember when elijah did the voicing for happy feet? that was back just after LOTR was done filming, and the movie came out about 5 years later.
i see the trailer is now showing in movie theaters. getting a bit of a jump on things i say.

Haha, my friend sent me the link for the trailer the other day, and since it was not my first time seeing it, I helped him get excited about the movie.
And I distinctly remember telling him that I was so excited about this movie, oh, 3 years ago, and I am still pumped for it now.

I'll have to come back and watch the video later, thanks very much Deenan! The closer it's coming, the more excited I'm getting - and it's nice to see Elijah out and about promoting a film again, seems like a long time.
