ok. so savannah is done and over with. any news from tony about how it went there?
oh and there's some news about the dvd. looks like there won't be any extras on it.

i'm surprised i can type the way my fingers have been crossed. i sure hope DZ does well in NYC when it's released.

The only thing I know is that it was incredible. A huge theater, a lot of people (around 1000) and great response.
Pity there aren't any extra's on the dvd, I looked forward to seeing some scenes that are not in the movie.
EDIT: I just received a long report from Tony from the Savannah fest and some other exciting news:
WOW was Savannah amazing. The theater was huge, around 1200 seats - and there were easily 1000 people there as only the seats around the edges and in front weren't filled. It was the largest audience we've played to, even bigger than the premiere at Tribeca. It's amazing how jokes are funnier, and tension is tenser, when shared with so many.
At least a few hundred stayed for Q&A with Bryan and me, and the crowd seemed to really like the film (there were people from several other southern festivals there, and we've received 3 further invitations which we're pondering - however, since they take place after our release, it's doubtful we'll be able to go). The Savannah Film Festival is sponsored by SCAD, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and they have an excellent film program there, so there were many students in attendance which made for an extremely interested audience.
Some more good news: in addition to NYC, Day Zero will also be released in the Seattle area, on Bainbridge Island at the Linwood Theater, also on January 18. First Look decided to open on 2 screens rather than 1, and rather than do LA for the west coast, we chose Seattle because that's where director Bryan Gunnar Cole is from. He'll be at the theater there for Q&A during opening weekend and perhaps all week.
On another note, the film is now available for pre-order on Amazon, BestBuy, and just about all the other usual web/store retailers who sell DVDs. Exciting!
Finally, the NYT included Day Zero in its piece on upcoming movies...

thanks brenda and tony.
even though i've liked the feedback from all the festivals, this one and tribeca have been my favorites. it's good to know the theater was full and the audience was into the movie.
was there a reason given why first look decided to open in seattle too? i hope they're reconsidering (not that they doubted) how powerful this film really is and the responses from the festivals have been positive. though it's not probable to happen, it's wonderful to know DZ has requests to show at other festivals.
i'm going to pre order my copy of the dvd this week, but i still hope to see it in a real theater.

I just found out the film is getting released January 18th 2008 in New York also possibly other places then coming to dvd February 26th 2008 I cant wait!!

Dee, will try to find out more, will let you know if I do.
Oh, and I have already pre-ordered my copy. It's the most expensive dvd I've ever bought but I don't want to wait until it's available in Europe.
