This film has had its fair share of criticism but I thought it was sweet and enjoyed watching it.

In general I greatly enjoyed this quirky little film - I found it both funny and tender, but the ending let it down somewhat, in my opinion. It seemed too 'safe' somehow, wrapping things all up neatly, Hollywood-style.
Still, Elijah showed great comic timing and both Franka and Mandy were excellent.

^^^ Tehe! Yep, Jones Dillon (Elijah's character) IS a randy little devil in this film, but seriously Raquel, there's nothing explicit about the sex-scenes (damn!!!  ) so it's probably safe to watch.
Note of interest for ya: Try Seventeen/All I WAnt was shot in Canada, your homeland!

it was made in my HOMELAND!!

I don't have the movie's DVD,so i just watched it on the T.V. and fortunatly it was cut(they reveal the sex scenes) so i didn't see Elijah's(Jones) little devil character!
But that movie is one of my favourites Lij's movies

Try Seventeen/All I Want was a good movie. my fav. part was when Jones imagined himself picking up some kind of bomb shooter outta his big suitcase and bombed the car with the meanies in it. that was halarious!

I FINALLY saw this. And I couldn't find it anywhere..I guess because it came out so long ago.
I thought it was pretty good. The ending IMHO was as described in this thread...a little to "Hollywood"..but over all pretty good.
Elijah was great..and adorable as always.

I bought this DVD for three bucks at a FYE store in the mall used. Still in pretty good shape, too!
It's one of my guilty pleasures... if my mother caught me watching it, then she'd freak! lol.

That's what I finally paid for it $3.00..but so many DVDs have gone to blue ray now it sure makes it easier to buy the regular ones.

Hmmm... Well, I'll tell you what I'd actually do:
Watch the beginning where Jones goes to the college opening, fast-foward through the big dude telling him off, fast-foward to the part where he looks through the newspaper and rents the apartment, and writes a letter to his dad.
The end. (sometimes I think ElijWood movies are a little too unappropiate for my innocent mind. '^^ So that's why I like him in animated films, his childhood films, and his rated-PG "true love" films instead... and Lord of the Rings because my friend loves LotR & Frodo. ^^)
... *stops rambling* Yeah, just some of the beginning and then shut it off, and in my mind it's a happily ever after for Jones. XD

Haha, thanks Allie I'll try that if I ever get it I agree... and a whole lot of them are rated R.  That's why I wish we had one of those things on the dvd player where you can just check what kind of stuff you don't want it to show or say. You can like set your own rating or whatever. I think that'd be cool.
But yeah, I like his animated ones alot too, they're so cute. And of his child ones, I especially love "Huck Finn." OMG, that's such a good movie! And LOTR, definitely. I'm a massive LOTR fan.
