He is a clumsy hobbit.Maybe secretly they all just tripped and pushed him alot, or maybe Peter Jackson has some kind of sick grudge against Elijah. We may never know. Falling is good fun, i always say my day isn't complete unless i have fallen over at least once. I am very clumsy, i think its endearing!!

Yep, sure did notice it! Sure, Frodo does fall a bit in the books too, but I'm not sure it was strictly necessary for PJ to go to this extent!, LOL!
However, it's kind of a trademark of Elijah's now in most of his movies... The Faculty and Try Seventeen (All I Want) are two others that films where his characters trip, fall and slide along the ground a lot, for various reasons... In fact, if you ever watch the LOTR Extended dvds, Dom Monaghan, Lij etc actually discuss Elijah's penchant for 'prat-falling'. It's certainly a skill we should al have in our repertoire!

Lol, he does fall a lot. Check out this interview where he answers:
Quote:| There is something about falling I quite enjoy. In fact, for fun, I do pratfalls on my own or with friends just for comic effect. Why I end up in movies in which my character falls I have no idea. That's more coincidental. |

I think Frodo falling a lot is to signify the weight and burden of the ring

I think it was just purely for comedy value. Just like when Sam says PO-TA-TOES!! to Gollum, classic.

I think we should start a thread called who fell over today?? and everyone can write down how many times, what and how they fell over each day. I like to think i would be adding to it everyday. But where would we put such a thread??

I saw that, if I remember it right he compaired Lij to Chaplain and said he fell down 3 flights of stairs and just dusted himself off afterwards.
But I never noticed in the movies how often the characters stumble.
Acting souds alot tougher than it looks.

Frodo falls a lot on the LOTR movies, perhaps because the ring was so strong on him. But when you read the book, Frodo doesn't fall many times. He's more stronger on the books. But Lij did superb portraying Frodo. He deserved to be a Academy Award and Golden Globen nominee or win both prizes.
