For me it has to be ROTK from the moment King Theoden dies till The Gray Havens. One nonstop crying for me.

When Frodo leaves, and all the times he get hurt or some bad happens, I can't help it, he is near and dear to my heart, and if he's hurt I'm upset.

I watched it in a roomful of people first so i wouldn't let myself cry. My brother and his friends would have never let me live it down. But movies make me cry very easily (now). i cried during Click, Titanic, Armageddon, and some movies that weren't even sad. but i had to leave when gandalf died, and when frodo left.

I think the most tear jerking moment is when Frodo says goodbye to Sam at the end of the RotK. It always make me cry But I also start to cry when Frodo nearly died in FotR, when Gandalf falls in FotR, when Frodo leaves Sam in RotK, always when Frodo cries... There are so many moments that I can't write them all down.

For me itīs in the end when Frodo goes away.I canīt holding back my tears in that moment
I also have to cry when Pip leaves Merry & must go to Denethor or when Arwen shed some tears in the first movie because of Frodo.
I think I nearly cry the whole time when I watch LOTR...

I think the absolute saddest moment is that short scene during The End of All Things; that exact moment after Frodo and Sam destroy the ring and the fellowship is rejoicing at The Black Gate when the volcano explodes. You can see the hope drain from everyone's face (such good actors) at the exact moment they realize that there is almost no chance of Frodo and Sam actually survivng the eruption. Amazingly devestating moment.
Grey Havens was a close second for me though.

the first three times I saw rotk I cried at like 3 dif parts the whole "you bow to no one" gave me shivers and I cried alot. I cried when merry and pippin got seperated I cried when frodo told sam to go home I cried at gray havens
one part that was suposed to be happy crying, I laughed my ass of. When frodo wakes up in the bed, and sees gandalf, and says "gandalllffff" in the most hilarious voice ever. Me and my friends LAUGHED so hard every time. Sometimes people got mad...and I donn't blame them haha.

The one that actually made me cry and bursting into tears! was the LOTR: The Return of the King. When everything was done and it was finished everyone's journey.
After that Frodo, Bilbo goes to Rivendell and stuff .. I think?? Then Frodo hugs/kisses Sam on the head also to Pippin and Merry. and says good bye.
then Frodo/elijah talks about what happened when the adventure was done also when he was leaving and stuff.
Gets me every time. Don't know why.

When Aragorn and the people of Gondor bow to the hobbits after Aragorn is crowned King....made me cry....as it was a very good act from Aragorn to reward the hobbits for their fragment!

^ Sorry to hear that Chelsea.
I voted for 'When Sam gives Frodo his speech about how "there's some good in this world" at the end of the Two Towers'. I always always always cry at that bit.

For me it was Gandalf's fall into shadow - until I realised that he was coming back. Now that I'm familiar with the story, I don't cry in that bit!
However, the bit that REALLY gets the tears flowing each time I see ROTK is when the eagles swoop down and scoop up Sam and Frodo - For me, it is actually the piece of music that is played during this scene... so hauntingly beautiful!!!

Quote from: f.r.o.d.o. on August 27, 2006, 07:41:24 am My FIRST time I cried and was so emotional was when Aragorn told Frodo they had to move on from Moria after Gandalfs fall and he looked right into you the viewer with such horror and loss....... But to me ..... Frodo leaving for the Grey Havens brought back so many memories. ..... Did you know that Peter Jackson lost both his parents while directing LOTR and they never got to see his final production of ROTK? And I feel so strongly that it is very heavenly his portrayal of the Grey Havens and this is a bit of a tribute to his parents leaving. Because ...... when both my parents died ... the sea took them too .
|
I already commented on this, but to reitorate I think now that if I am already emotional I will cry at all the end scenes of rotk starting with sam holding frodo on mount doom, they are all so emotional.

I didnt know this that is so sad and awful thing. But a nice tribute to them 'the grey havens' scene. Thats nice to believe your parents were took by the sea like in rotk.

I don't think there hasn't been a point in any of the films when i haven't cried. I spend most of the last hour of RoTK sobbing though, I have to say, haha.
I really have never been so emotionally connected to a movie/movies. I hope that doesn't sound sad or anything, but you know what I mean.
It's like, even though it can make me cry, watching Lord of The Rings whenever I'm down will always cheer me up.
