Is your fandom of Elijah plagued????

The other night at dinner, my daughter asked me if I had heard about the new Elijah movie, I said "9" and proceeded to tell her about the stuff on youtube etc. Well she just lit into me telling me how crazy and obsessive I am about him. Question, do any of you get plagued by people who think you are Elijah "nuts?"

Yes, mine is. I'm pretty quiet about my fandom - not many people know that I'm an Elijah fan - but my sister takes every opportunity to annoy me about it. She regularly says that he's a rubbish actor - and she always gets his name wrong (Elijah WoodS).

A bit... About a year ago, my daughter started crying and accusing me of "loving Elijah Wood more than you love my Dad"! (she was 10 at the time). And my hubby teases me about spending so much time on A+F (not lately tho!) and calls him Ethan Wood accidentally-on-purpose!
I realised that I had gotten pretty obsessed about him, so now I try to control my ramblings about EW whenever the kids or other people are around.
This is the story of my life however... I tend to get obsessed about something (or someone) and it usually lasts months or even years before I move on... The "crush" or "interest" may reduce in intensity over time, however, it usually remains on the backburner throughout my life and may make a surprise "reappearance" at any time, lol!

Yes I do F.R.O.D.O.
A few weeks ago I bought a piece of luggage because I had seen a recent photo of Elijah Wood with a similar type of thing and I liked the piece. I thought it looked classic and had style. Anyway I came home and showed my husband what I bought and how my favorite celebrity (Elijah Wood) had one similar and he accused me of being a "celebrity stalker"
In aill fairness though he said the same thing when I bought a guns n roses shirt for "nostalgia" value.
Also Gem, I too get accused by my husband of "obsessing" on various guys that aren't him. Especially Elijah Wood, He even gets jealous of my time "in here". But I don't care. IMHO these celeb guys serve as muses and inspiration for paintings, poems ect so for me I'm not going to give up my eye-candy inspiraion, any more than I'm going to give up my art.

YES! Everyone that finds out seems to think he's "in all direct-to-DVD movies because he sucks," and "He's gay," and "Ugly."
I have no idea whats wrong with these people!
I just obsess to my friends in my fan group. (See how very obsessed I am to have my own fan group!!??)
Anyway, the people who try to tear me down for it do actually tear me down just a bit.
But I love me some Lijah!!

That's a shame. It's not easy to carry on praising Elijah when other people keep criticising him. But everyone has different tastes - I just wish people would be more considerate.

Not for me. Especially not anymore. The vast majority of negative comments about Elijah I've only ever seen on the internet by anonymous people, very rarely in real life to my face. My brother used to be a jerk about it, but now it's all out of sight and out of mind. If the subject of Elijah ever does come up anymore, my sister and my mom like him and respect him. My dad... well, I just don't talk about him to my dad. He thinks he's just a little short midget, and he wants me to like tall guys (like him).

I wouldn't stress you guys.
I see alot of you worried concerned, offended, feeling torn down about a few negative comments here and there about Elijah Wood. People love to "roast" celebrities.
If people honestly dislike a celeb, they don't even bother to criticize, they just change the channel and ignore the celeb.
Besides if you look it's is the same pile of celebrity criticisms is just lingering out here in cyber space like they have been forever. The only thing that changes is the name/face of whatever famous person. Same criticisms, different celebs.
Criticisms are recycled. But praise is individualized.

Ah no one plagues me about my obessions. I mean I guess they can't cause everyone has their little own fandom of their own. So we collectively tease each other about each
