I read the Hobbit, LOTR, Unfinished Tales and some other novels from the author like Roverandom or the Dragonslayer. I think he's a brilliant writer! I love the fantasy world and every Fantasy book or Horror book esp if connected with Vampires! Do u like Anne Rice and Braam Stoker? But sometimes I like also hystorical books or costume's books coz I study them for my doll's creations. What about u? Hugs Gecko

I'd like to read other books by Tolkien but I'm scared to be disapointed since I really LOVE the trilogy!!!! Are they cool? and are they of the same kind of writing?

I like LOTR books much much more than the movies. I LOTR books! I've read them 4 and 3/4 times. I've also read the Silmarillion and the Hobbit. Now I'm reading Unfinished tales.

I love the trilogy but I think I might read them over when i get a bit older. They were kind of hard for me. And I love Roverandom...that was so sweet. I've tried to read the History of Middle Earth and the Similarion but i just dont seem to take it in...aww well, maybe in a couple of years.
The hobbit was awesome though.

Dragonslayer chronicles are very good!
How about Shinara? (I CAN'T SPELL IT!) I loved The Elf Stones of Shinara!!!!!!!!!!! I fell in lvoe with that book...read it within four days non-stop. And that's good for me, because I'm a slow reader.

Ah yes. Where would I be without Tolkien?? The LotR series was pure genious.. and the Hobbit was so cute! And I LOVED, loved, loved the Silmarillion.. it was so interesting! I loved learning about the history of Middle-Earth, and the elves, and Morgoth and all that.. it was just amazing that Tolkien came up with it all! Wow!
I'm currently reading Unfinished Tales now, but I only just started. I'm only on the full version of the Narn I Hin Hurin.. which was one of my favorite (and perhaps saddest) stories from the Silmarillion.. so I'm excited!
I want to eventually read all the Histories of Middle Earth books.. but there's just not enough time! Lol.

My friend says the Silmarillion is hard to read and sometimes boring -- but usually good -- she is an extremely fast reader so she should know. So I'm a bit put off by that.

The Hobbit is easier to read then the trilogy, at least according to some people. It's more of a story and less of a history. I love it. It''s very much fun to read. The Silmarillion is more difficult, but it's worth it. I did get some odd looks while I was reading it on the plane, but I enjoyed it. You learn some of the coolest stuff from that book. All that said, the trilogy is still my favorite.
