oh i completely agree! Ella Enchanted is far far better than the movie, the movie really isn't truly the same story line. That is definately one of my favorite books ever. Gale Carson Levine is a really talented author. Ah, love that book so much

Anything by Nick Hornby (he did High Fidelity, About a Boy and a bunch of other's. And I've read them all ). He is such a witty writer, I love books that can give me a good laugh, and a good cry all within a chapter. He's good like that.
I also love Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, who is same author that did the Sandman series (comic books). That is the only book I've read by him so far though.
At the moment I'm reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... and I loooove it!

And I'll keep digging, till I feel something.

I have a lot of favourite books but I would have to say that "The Seer and The Sword" by Victoria Hanley is my favourite and has been for many years now. I dont know about anywhere else but in England it has been out of print for ages and I had to get it off amazon but it has recently been re-released so I DEFinately recommend it. You can seriously fall in love with Landen and his band are brilliant.

right now, its my leather bound compilation of The Illiad and The Odyssey. it may not be my favorite story, but it is certainly my favorite book, in the physical sense.
i dont think i could chose one favorite. i love Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, "The Crucible", The Great Gatsby, 1984, Treasure Island, Sherlock Holmes (i just bought volumes 1&2 of this "complete collection" thing), etc. etc.
there's just sooo many!

Lord of the Rings is my all time favorite. Loved the Silmarillion as well - basically anything by Tolkien And Harry Potter of course. I also like a lot of the classics like Oliver Twist and the Secret Garden. Beowulf is very good too... I've really been in a reading mood lately

Just like me They're my absolute favourites. There's many books I enjoyed reading, but I have only few favourites. Except "LOTR", "silmarillion" and "The Hobbit" I love "The Godfather" too.

I have a lot of favorite books:
"The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien: first read it when I was about 15, read it again every year since.
"House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski: it's so totally different from anything else I've read.
"Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts: I loved it from the very first page. I haven't even finished it yet (am at page 300 - still 650 wonderful pages to go) but I know I will read it again many times.
"The Name of the Rose" by Umberto Eco: I had some problems with the Latin texts in the beginning of the book but once you get through that, it's one of the most fascinating crime stories.

I took a long time to think of my favorite and it was too hard so here is my list of books that have truly meant a lot to me personally My favorite series is Lond of the Rings trilogy Foundation by Isaac Asimov is second. The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving Suicide Mountain by John Gardner Wicked by Gregor McGuire Nickeled and Dimed - I can't remember her name Into Thin Air by John Krakou
I have to admit A Prayer for Owen Meany really alterred my thoughts on life.

I can't narrow it down to one book but James Baldwin is my favourite writer of all time, I love all of his books that I have read.
