I lent the books to my English teacher, and now she's hooked, too. Whoo hoo!

I read a few chapters of Across the Nightingale Floor when I was at Dan's. I don't think it's really my kind of book, but I'll give it a chance.

Well, I suppose not all books are for everybody. But at least read a little more; who knows, you may be surprised!
Then again, you could hate it. Haha. I won't hold it against you, I promise.

I surely will be. I've heard only good things about it.

This is an old thread that I've just found - I just thought I'd say that I absolutely loved these books, they're so magical and Lian Hearn has a really beautiful pure writing style. There's actually a fourth book as well, 'The Harsh Cry Of The Heron', which is amazing too!

Funny how these old topics surface after a couple of years, huh? I wasn't even aware of the fourth book (or the soon-to-be-released prequel) until about a month ago. I need to re-read the first three, and then definitely pick up a copy of the fourth one!

OK, I'll answer my own question - the soon-to-be-released prequel is now released, and its called 'Heaven's Net Is Wide'. I'm about halfway through - I found it a bit slow going at the beginning but now I'm really getting stuck in.
