I finished "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" the other day and it made a huge impression on me... I just love the way the story is told and Milan Kundera makes some interesting points (especially about love... )... But now I just wondered whether anyone else has read it and if you liked it... He seems to be pretty good. the unbearable Lightness of Being is one of my all time favorite books, for many reasons, not the least of which being his unique story telling technique.  i love the way he went back and forth between story and analysis. the Farewell Party by Milan is also totally memorable, very interesting and actually a much quicker easier read although it also quite evocative. I thought it was a bit confusing in the beginning but after the first couple of chapters I just loved it!  I actually spent the last couple of days reading some of his other books but I think none of them come close to the unbearable lightness of being... Kundera writes about the human condition in a fresh, philosophical, and humorous way.  The section on Words Misunderstood was my favourite...especially the part about music.  I haven't read anything else by him, but I would like to get my hands on The Book of Laughter and Forgetting p.s. have you seen the movie?...if you haven't...it comes highly recommended... « Last Edit: June 19, 2005, 01:56:52 am by damestelle » Report to moderator   Logged m Be yourself.
