Battle of the Famous Literary characters!

I thought it would be interesting to start some arguments about who would beat who in a battle. For example, in the unlikely case that these 2 would argue, who would win in a fight between Gandalf the Grey (not white yet) and Albus Dumbledore?
Then I say,"I hate to say it, but Gandalf would kick Dumbledore's arse in a middle eath minute." then one of you might couter with something like "You fool, can't you see how superior Dumbledor is to that old coot!" And then the argument will ensue.
Sounds like fun, huh?
OK, so let's start with The Dumbledore and Gandalf, and when that get's old, do something different.

but why? How? Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard of the modern day, and Gandalf was imortal centuries ago.

because gandalf helped rid the world of evil. dumbledore sits about and lets a 14 year old boy do all the work for him!

because gandalf's power doesn't have time limitations....time means nothing to him, it doesn't affect him.....plus, he has defeated enemies the likes of which dumbledore has never seen.....

Yeah, has Dumbledore ever had to face anything like a Balrog? Anything so ancient and evil that the very King of evilness himself created it? Lol. Dumbledore only has to worry about Voldemort.. and he's not immortal, by any means. He does not really even have control over much, as Sauron did. I think I'd perhaps go with Gandalf on this one, too.

Dude, all Gandalf would have to do was hit Dumbledore with his stick and Albus would be down.

aragorn would come and beat the crap out of dumbledore......no, i'm sure gandalf would have a spare......besides, he can do stuff w/out it. he doesn't necessarily need it to do magic.......like dumbledore needs his wand, seriously, it's like a crutch.....
