Surprise! Elijah will have a part in the Hobbit and it's confirmed.

I hope you don't mind me making a new topic here, I think it deserves a thread of it's own.

Yes, the entire thing is shot in 3D, not just transformed in 3D.

Oh man, I can't stand 3D.  It's really hard on my eyes, and I can't enjoy it.  Oh well, what can you do, I have to see it.

The Hobbit is one of my favorite books and I read it each yr.  Now that Elijah is confirmed to be part of it, I'm even more excited about it as well.  Even thought I seen the LOTR films I can't imagine how some of the creatures will be shot and I'm wonder what they'll leave out.  Beorn seems like a character easier to leave out than include, but I hope not.

They're not leaving Beorn out. Mikael Persbrandt will be playing him.

Elijah's comments, everyone. I think it's really sweet, his enthusiasm seems real.

Oh, and here's more.

@FAQ
Does this mean that Elijah will be in New Zealand for a whole year? (since he said that the shooting will go over a year or so)

My friend is a major LotR buff, and I'm sure she'll be seeing The Hobbit.

Oh, they have something new every day. The news about the Hobbit are going very hot right now.

I found at least this. It turned out later that he would be Beorn.

Edit: More from Torn...

Quote:
Elijah Wood emphasized his role in "The Hobbit" films will not effect the integrity of the story in a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter:

"There only would have been reservation about taking the part if there had been something that had infringed upon the integrity of the original book," he says. "But that was never going to be the case."

While the "Rings" reunion is happening, the actor does not believe it will be a repeat session where the main actors opted for bonding tattoos during the filming of the original series.

"This time around, I don't think so," says Wood. "But you never know."
