Title: Harry Potter on Food TV
Post by: Storyteller on January 24, 2008, 09:19:55 am
Ok...not sure what I think of this. Apparently, there is a Harry Potter cake on "Ace of Cakes" tonight on FoodTV. The article states that "Dan Radcliffe and Rupert Grint were shown in a preview"
Hmmmm....

| A Harry Potter cake sounds cool! If you don't mind me asking, is the Ace of Cakes just a cookery program or something? Interesting anyway, thanks for posting Rach. :) |

I've never seen the program all the way through, but it seems to be about a bakery where they make VERY fancy cakes. The Harry Potter cake, according to the program write up, was made for the premiere of OotP.
It should be interesting anyway.

Ok, here are some caps from the recent Ace of Cakes episode. The people in the show (which I had never seen before) made the cake for the premiere of OoP this past summer.
I couldn't find this thread a minute ago, so there are a couple of repeats of caps I put in the Rupert section. Sorry. Apparently, I'm not having my best day! LOL
The cake was, to quote Dan, impressive. The castle is styrofoam covered in fondant icing but the grounds are real cake and completely edible. The way they made the trees was kind of interesting. They made a sugar syrup then let it harden and broke it up and rolled the trees in it so that they had a rough texture. Kind of ingenious.
There was a short interview with Rupert and another with Dan.

Then Dan admired the cake.
