I've noticed the missing tooth gap, too! I thought maybe I was just seeing things. But I swear, in most parts, it's not there! I think I heard somewhere that they covered it up.. but I've no clue why!

Someone told me before that they had put a false thing in there to fix it for the movie. But I still want to know why it was such a big deal.

Hi I'm new to this forum and I have a question.
Did Elijah in the movie Deep Impact wear false teeth? His front teeth looked so straight and it looks so strange.
I don't know if this question has been asked before,
but as I said I'm new here.

Some directors don't like gaps, and that's why they use plastic teeth

Hey...what a coincidence.. Deep Impact was on TV on the 30th in my country too (Romania) ;D
Though I had seen it before, this is the first time I reaaallly looked at it through the eyes of a fan of Elijah! It was great... He is just too cute... him and Leelee Sobieski make a really good couple on the screen don't they? ;)
Deep Impact was released in 1998, so he must've been like 17 or so....right before filming LOTR..

Wow, he looked young for 17. I don't know, It was okay, I cried and everything, but I think it could have been better if there weren't so many plot lines, cause you couldn't connect to them all. Ah, who cares, it had Elijah in it!

I hated because of that bloody stupid bimbo bitch girl, who only started to like him because Elijah was all of a sudden 'famous' and then she didn't leave her parents, which got me mad! I was like screaming at the T.V "Just go! Or Lij, just bloody leave her!"
I get so angry sometimes :P ;D

At the time I watched Deep Impact I was quite the obsessive fan, and although I hated her, I liked it how the girl's name was Sarah, cos that's my name. So it was cool when he was screaming out 'Sarah! Saaraaahh!' I was like 'Cool. Elliiiijjaaahhh!' ;D ::)

I remember thinking that the little boy in Back to the Future was cute (the one who turned out to be Lij!) and then I found out it was him and i was like, ahhhh, even cuter! But I really don't get (no offense to anyone!) why he's credited as being in it, AND having a name, I mean, all he says is 'You mean you gotta use your hands', yet his name is right there, staring in B2tF2 is Michael J Fox, that blokey (so can't remember his name!) and ELijah Wood, like, before the girl's name, tis a bit weird, but hey, it's Elijah, so what do i care :P!!

*Edit* Just read the post above, I'm afraid I beat your lameness with this film. I just remembered, when this came out, my friend had the HUUUUGEST crush on David Duchochney sp?! (from the X-Files), who was at the time seeing Tea Leoni, and as a group, we absolutly hated her, we wouldn't go near the film because 'she' was in it!!!! (don't worry, it was my pre-elijah stage!!!)

It's a little cheesy...but I admit it makes me cry. I have a softspot for tearjerker disaster movies I guess. And Elijah's scenes are some of the most interesting.

"SARAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"

Yeah, the movie was quite cheesy. I liked it, back in the day, though. I'm just not really into all the "oh no, the world's about to end" kind of movies.

Title: Re:Deep Impact - Discussion
Post by: Blue Star on October 26, 2005, 10:00:11 pm

Yeah, I have to admit I think it's cheesy now but when I first saw it all the way through (at least with the Elijah conscience, I already saw it before that), it was a tearjerker for me. Actually the one part where I was really almost brought to tears was when the buses were stopping at their neighborhood and the girlfriend's parents weren't on the list or something and after the fighting she eventually got on the bus without Elijah, and she ran to the back of the bus crying while Elijah was just standing there on the street being left abandoned by her. I guess I was really into her position back then. ;)

I loved it at the end when they escaped the waves on the top of the hill and looked up at the meteor shower together. He was so cute and...fetishable (I think I just made up my own word) ;D

Title: Deep Impact
Post by: ElijahWoodx3 on April 09, 2007, 10:10:44 am

Hi guys! Last night I was looking through my grandma's TV channels, and I saw that Deep Impact was on TNT. You should have seen me run out of her room and into the livingroom to grab my camera! I only got to see the last 15 mins, but it was worth it!

Only problem, my camera was out of battery, so it kept shutting off on me! And me, being the brainless person I am, forgot to bring extra batteries!

So needless to say, I did get a few photos, but not good ones.

So, now that I have seen the ending, I'm thinking I want to see the whole movie now, lol. I didn't understand anything that was going on!

Running up-hill with a lady and baby?
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s87/ElijahWoodx3/DeepImpact--runninguphill2.jpg
Still running...
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s87/ElijahWoodx3/Elijah.jpg
Yay! They made it! lol
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s87/ElijahWoodx3/DeepImpact--onhill.jpg
Huddled together on the top of the hill...

And get this! After Deep Impact was over, guess what was on Sci Fi! Hercules, with Sean Astin! I almost screamed!

And needless to say, this totally made my Easter worth-while!

Also, if anyone has seen this movie, could they explain the jist of it to me? I'd really appreciate it!

Title: Re:Deep Impact
Post by: Caz on April 09, 2007, 11:11:53 am

Hey, glad you had a good time. ;D
While procrastinating, I thought I'd explain what the film is about.. ;)

While eyeing the sky through his telescope one night, (Elijah) views an unusual object. Unknown to him, it's a comet on a direct collision course for earth. After announcing the comet, the President (Morgan Freeman) announces that there is no need to worry because NASA is taking care of it, by sending astronauts on a space mission to destroy the comet. The mission backfires however. Special caves are built and there is a lottery to select a certain amount of citizens to enter the caves and survive. (Elijah) is chosen to enter the cave but his girlfriend isn't. Grudgingly he leaves her, but just as he is about to be saved, he runs away and gets her (and the baby - her sibling as far as I remember). They try to leave the city and reach the top of the mountain just as the comet hits.

By the way, there are many screencaps at http://www.elijahfan.com/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=Movies :)

I remember Elijah saying something about how the script pertaining to his and Leelee Sobieski's characters ended up being a lot different from what he agreed to originally, and that he felt character development was kind of shortchanged. In the making-of-feature, the director mentions that they originally had a more passionate kiss. Does anyone know any more about this?

The "making of" is supposed to be on my DVD but it's not. :(
I heard a few other people have this problem too. So, unfortunately I can't help you there.

Sorry if I'm bringing ths up again and shouldn't, but I wanted to say I did see the reat of Deep Impact, and it was very good. I actually cried the second time I saw it because I knew what was happening! :'(

Only one complaint, Elijah had a big role, but only a few lines. That was my big bummer.

And, the girl he was running up the hill with was his wife ;D

So lemme get this straight. (ElijahWoodx3, I STILL worship your signature) Leo was actually supposed to be a much more influential role? Or was it just a more passionate kiss?
I've been borrowing my friend's Deep Impact DVD for months now, I'm unwilling to let go off it XDApparently the making-of is on that DVD. Perhaps I should check it out?

That's my bummer with Leo. It was a beautiful, sorta timid role, but waaay too underplayed - especially since I don't like the movie otherwise. It's like eating spaghetti without salt...

Well, the movie itself was good, but it's one of those movies you can't watch over and over and over again. (like when I first got Happy Feet, I watched it every day for 2 weeks! X-D) I think it has a good story line, but it's not a feel-good movie that you'd want to keep re-watching.

And thanks Mermaidbia! It's not that hard to make one, I made it in the paint program. Try it! ;D

I got the DVD for Christmas a few centuries ago (I believe it was just before they decided to release that damned re-edition with more extra features) and I haven't watched it once!

I watch it whenever it's on TV...and bawl my eyes out when the astronauts sacrifice themselves :'( It's not the greatest movie Elijah's been in, and i'll on buy it if it's ON SALE.

Respect for watching Happy Feet for 14 days straight, I think that'd be too stressful to me, even though I'm obsessed with it myself. XD Elijah's voice is too addictive, isn't it?
And nah, I'm an idiot when it comes to graphical stuff like that...the most I can do is my icon XD

Mmm... yes. Happy Feet is quite addicting. I saw it the first day it came out in theaters and I danced my way out of the auditorium... should have seen me on Easter. Had a liiitle too much Sprite and after I watched it I was dancing up a storm! (I think one of my cousins got in on video! :-X)

But yeah, it was one of the only Elijah movies I had ever seen so I watched it until I could quote every line. Haven't been able to watch it recently though, my Momma packed it away :(

Last time I saw Happy Feet completely, it pretty much took me a month XD I watched it in chunks, keeping a log of sorts in my LJ and illustrating it with pictures. Those entries took a lot of time. XD
And I watched it with my best friend in Italy (we flipped a coin) Poor guy...XD He had to endure Paris Je T'aime and Bobby with me, as well.

Anyway, back to Deep Impact-a! I still haven't seen the movie completely in English...only the scenes with Elijah ("Someone at the door for you, Leo!") Téa Leoni is one gorgeous woman, by the way...almost makes me question my sexuality, dang it XD

Hahaha yes. When my mom saw this (after seeing Flipper) she goes "What is with Elijah and these blondes??" lol. I told her that they "complement his eyes" ;). Then she retaliates with "yeah, sure. But did you notice that Elijah's voice plays along side Brittney Murphey's voice in Happy Feet, and BM is a BLONDE??" lol, I think she has a point there...

And I love tricking people into watching Lij movies with me, especially mys sister! She says she hates Elijah Wood, but I seem to be able to get her to watch all his movies! ;D

I also have it on Video about four times, and when I discovered Elijah was in Deep Impact I watched it too much and so it has slightly lost my interest

Love this movie. The stroryline is good too. I cried every time I watched it especially the one of the ending scene (Sara's parents told her to take her little brother with her). Maybe it's because I'm a family type of person.
