thanks for posting this. it was dicey for a while. they weren't sure if they could complete the movie, but now it looks all good. :D

i got another thing about the video game (all ready) for happy feet that will be coming out.

http://www.gigex.com/general/article/?id=8520&game_id=4123&source=00001 (http://www.gigex.com/general/article/?id=8520&game_id=4123&source=00001)

i wonder if the actors will be doing the voices.

I'll bet they will. Lij and Hugo Weaving love that kind of thing. Don't know about Nicole though. ::)

They're gonna try to make him the worst singer in the world???
(Had to do that. ::) :P)
I had no idea that his parents were HUGH JACKMAN and NICOLE KIDMAN!! That's just...I don't know. Typical to cast the most A-list celebrities for some parts. ::)
And I can't believe that HUGO WEAVING is in it! That's awesome! Especially because he was the dog Rex in Babe, which George Miller also wrote (directed).
I personally can't wait for this movie, even though it's a kid's movie. I can't wait to see how the animation turns out.
(researches what Emperor Penguins look like)
::)

I don´t mean to miss it either, and I think both Hugo and Elijah have very nice and interesting voices, so I´m sure it will be worthy to watch the movie and find out how they modulate the voice or change it to play their characters.

I´m happy you liked the information, Margui. Yes, the movie is probably for kids but I love animated movies and having the chance of listening to both Elijah and Hugo... it is worthy...
I don´t know when it will be released here in Spain, so all I can do is wait and hope it won´t take too long!!

Warner Bros. Pictures' Happy Feet to be simultaneously released as IMAX(R) 3D film in November 2006

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that Happy Feet, an animated musical comedy about a tap-dancing Emperor Penguin and his adventures in the Antarctic, will be released domestically in IMAX® 3D simultaneous with the film's 2D premiere in conventional theatres on November 17, 2006. The film is directed by George Miller (the Babe films, Lorenzo's Oil and the Mad Max trilogy) with an all-star ensemble cast, featuring the voices of Nicole Kidman, Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman and Brittany Murphy. Happy Feet will be digitally converted into IMAX 3D and utilize proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. Warner Bros. Pictures will be the exclusive distributor of the film to the growing worldwide IMAX® theatre network, as well as to conventional theaters worldwide.

Said Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures, "People who have seen footage of Happy Feet have been tremendously entertained and IMAX 3D is going to amplify that experience. The IMAX network has become a valuable part of our release strategy, and we're pleased to continue adding great films to the pipeline, which now includes three Warner Bros. Pictures - IMAX 3D releases for next year."

Agreed Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, "We enjoyed an enthusiastic reception to the release of The Polar Express in the IMAX 3D format last year, and, with Happy Feet in IMAX 3D, we look forward to the continued expansion of our relationship with IMAX overseas."

"We believe Happy Feet is going to be a major draw for IMAX theatres around the world next holiday season," said IMAX Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler. "We are very encouraged by the heavy demand we're seeing from both Hollywood studios and commercial exhibitors for films converted into spectacular IMAX 3D, and delighted to continue filling out next year's commercial film slate, which is being solidified faster and earlier than ever before."

"Happy Feet has everything we look for in an IMAX release: cutting edge visuals, a heartwarming tale for audiences of all ages, an unforgettable musical score, and an incredible filmmaker with a unique vision. The film is going to look and sound spectacular as An IMAX 3D Experience®," said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "There were a number of outstanding titles to choose from for our 2006 holiday release, and given the great working relationship we've established with Warner Bros. Pictures, as well as the fantastic character of this film, we feel Happy Feet is the perfect choice."

Happy Feet is a comedy adventure set in the land of the Emperor Penguins in the heart of Antarctica. These penguins sing, each needing their own special song to attract a soul mate. Unfortunately, our hero Mumble (ELIJAH WOOD), son of Memphis (HUGH JACKMAN) and Norma Jean (NICOLE KIDMAN), is the worst singer in the world... but he can tap dance something fierce!

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Kennedy-Miller Film, Happy Feet, directed by George Miller. Written by George Miller, John Collee, Judy Morris and Warren Coleman. Produced by Doug Mitchell, Bill Miller and George Miller. Executive Producers are Graham Burke and Bruce Berman. Music composed by John Powell.

The problem is, when the movie will come out in France, it's not the voice of Lij, but the voice of another person we don't know! >:( :'(
So if I want heard Elijah, I maybe will must wait the DVD! :'( :'(

I once saw that that TV sitcom called Father of the Pride (with the lions in Las Vegas from the creators of Shrek) took 9 months to make, each episode. Obviously all the animating and rendering takes a pretty long time to do.

It seems like such a cute movie. ;D

Plus, just have to mention him since we're on the 'Happy Feet' discussion... Robin Williams rocks!

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

I'll try not to gush too much about how happy this makes me. I'm so proud of Elijah...sounds like he may again star (as a voice actor anyway) in an Oscar-winning film. I LOOOOVE Imax 2D movies, and Imax *3D* movies are absolutely breathtaking. This is going to be a blissful experience...being surrounded with beautiful visuals I can almost touch...and being filled with Elijah's sweet voice.

I'm so sorry to hear that in other countries there will be a non-Elijah voiceover. That's stupid! People in France and Germany almost all speak English as a second language, don't they? I agree about having a Happy Feet party here in the US so everyone can hear Lij! :D ;)

I really really hope it doesn't look like that poster. I imagined the penguins all this time to be a lot more dynamic and tuxedo like with big huge eyes and Mumble would look so close to Elijah. Because Elijah does look like a penguin. ;D

But, I have a feeling it is.... :-\

It could be the baby or young version, since we are going to see at least three different ages of Mumble. Still nobody else has pictures yet, but I think I can recall (from the depths of my memory) that they were going for a less cartoony look. But don't nail me down to it!

Thank you so much!

I thought I heard two "Whoas" and one "Hey". And he shouted something like "Look at your feet (?)" to the small penguin chicks. That adolescent Mumble is very cute, as tall as the adults but still with chick down. Did you know the adult emperors are taller than most hobbits? ;D

Frodo, I saw the Potter film Monday night and it had the "Happy Feet" trailer. There were two places where you hear Elijah. In one place he says "Whoooops!" and the other one is kind of a yelp.....I don't know what else to call it. There may have been others, but those were the two I picked out.

I agree with Deenan. There is already a thread for the film "Happy Feet" in Other Media, so this will probably be merged since the trailer is being discussed there, too.

i had to revive this with an article i got.

I knew nothing about this film until I visited the production in Sydney while touring the Superman Returns set. What I saw really impressed me and convinced me that this could be a sleeper hit of 2006. It features realistic computer animated penguins and the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving and more. And oddly enough it's directed by George Miller, the guy that brought you everything from "The Road Warrior" to Babe.

I heard some of the music in this and it was fantastic. It features Queen's "Somebody to Love", Prince's "Kiss", and a variety of other pop songs. (And get ready to hear Hugh Jackman singing on the big screen for the first time.) I also saw some of the action and comedy and was also impressed. This looks to be a great family film late in the year.

Well done, Deenan!! Thanks for reviving this thread...

Sometimes I tend to talk about Elijah´s future projects as Bobby or that biopic about Iggy Pop, and totally forget this amazing movie.

I´m looking forward to its release... if there is something I do appreciate in Elijah beyond his physical attractiveness is his unique voice...

Gee whiz, it looks like they're not hesitating on having mostly hip modern music all over the place. But I forgot that's what Shrek 2 has. ::) And Shrek 2 was awesome.

Can't wait!

shrek was great, and the music was a big part of that. to hear modern music in a fantasy-like cartoon just makes it more up to date.

You'll probably have to wait until late this year, because to my knowledge a real trailer hasn't been made yet. It comes out in November.

Maybe sometime soon, I'm hoping. :)

Wow...

Sounds like a nightmare from both of the reviews and everything...how many problems there are... maybe by a long shot I hope they'll find a great solution for everything and make the movie fun to watch for most people.

Other than that, I'm a bit worried. :-\

Same here. It's been hard to find a good family movie, and when I first heard of the movie, I thoiught 'Hey, there's a good one' but ... it's not doing very well.

If these reviewers have seen the unfinished version then I can only hope that they iron out all the problems before it gets released.

I know what they mean about Robin Williams, he has a very distinctive voice - I dont see how he can play more than one character without people realising!

You beat me to it, Nuke. I just read it via LJ and came here to post the link, too.

It's a very interesting read. The most information about the film that I've seen anywhere so far. I LOVE that they gave Elijah's penguin huge blue eyes. ;D

Glad Quint thinks the movie will be a blockbuster. Elijah needs another blockbuster....even if we only get to hear him.

I want to see that preview really bad! The scene where Mumble tries to sing sounds like fun... ;)

Speakin' of which, does anyone have an idea whether or not Elijah was ever in the trailer? I mean, TECHNICALLY, he yells when he falls off the iceberg, he says, "Lookit the feet, lookit the feet!" and he gives a big, "WOOH!" at the end. But do you s'pose it was Elijah? I don't see why not, but you never know with animation. ;)

LOL! I agree, deenan, I think Mumble's a cute name for him. ;) Oh! And all the trailers are available on the official site (http://www2.warnerbros.com/happyfeet) as well, Mrs. Elijah J Wood, although deenan's copy's probalby nicer. ;)

Oh hey, something odd I noticed was, in the IMDB profile for Happy Feet; Elijah, of course, is credited as doing the voice of "Mumble". Darling little Khamani Griffin is credited as "Baby Mumble" (the one on the iceberg in the trailer). However, Elizabeth Daily is credited as doing "Young Mumbles". Weird, huh? ???

I wonder, though- Mumble's parents are famous singers with names like Memphis and Norma Jean. Do you suppose that a penguin doesn't get their flashy name until they begin to sing or something? It's just a theory, but that might also explain why Mumble is TECHNICALLY an adult, and yet looks like a tall version of all the baby penguins. He doesn't look like an emporer penguin, like he should.

Anywho, thoughts? I also noticed that they have someone named Sonje Fortag playing "Female penquin". lol.. ;) I think I'll go ahead and write into IMDB and get them to change that, (I know, it's just a typo, they're only human. But anyway...) and the fact that, we know now from that interview that Robin Williams' penguin's name is "Ramone".

That one just recently came out- it's technically another teaser. Honestly, Reina, I don't think we've seen a real, theatrical trailer yet, so you were on the right track. ;) I guess that's all a matter of opinion; I think of a theatrical trailer as being one where they have the plot outlined, the characters TALK, and you get to see what kind of a movie you're looking forward to.

SO far, the "Jump An' Move", "Baby Mumble" and "Ramone Serenades" (the one you posted) trailers are all we have- technically, all teasers. But they're also all official so...LOL! Hope that helped! ::)

if these are the teasers, the theatrical one will be heart stopping! ;D

of course, a more completed trailer will be out closer to it's release date, but there may be one or two more before it. maybe finally mentioning the actors names, and which musical artists songs will be used. you know like "featuring the music of elton john, stevie wonder, prince and queen."

this is going to be all around amazing. :D

Appolgies for the double-post! I just found a new poster for Happy Feet on a film database site:

I think it was manipped, though- it looks fanmade to me. ;) Anywho, thoughts? ;D

That does look manipped- especially since Mumble's shadow is cut off and his body looks superimposed over the background. Except if it is fan made then I don't know how they got that background text.

Anyway, I don't like it. And in that sense I really hope it's fan made, because I'm expecting a lot out of this movie. Even though most of my imaginations and expectations were already thrown out the window. Not to sound pessimistic or anything. I'm just praying that it will turn out to be a good movie.

speaking of village roadshow pictures, blue star, i think you can lay your doubts aside. they haven't had a big critically acclaimed hit since charlie and the chocolate factory.

they also produced mystic river, training day and the matrix films. BUT they also produced the adventures of pluto nash, house of wax, the dukes of hazzard and the matrix 2 and 3. ;D

so it think they are about due for a big hit. :D

Yeah, I agree- manipped. And not well either. ::) lol!

And yeah, noticed that the other day- Village Roadshow and Warner Bros. did the Matrix movies. LOL! I'm not too concerned about the film yet- I'm keeping my hopes mid-level so I'm not disapointed.

But they did "Polar Express", and though the script wasn't very good, that was the fault of the director, not the studio. And the animation (more the studio's job) was AMAZING. So hopefully, even if the plot isn't as great as we'd like, or the script not as funny, the animation will likely be stunning. ;D

Rock on!

[sorry, double-post]

Another New Poster! Mumble's eyes are a bit unnaturally blue here, but cute all the same. ;D I just posted it at the Happy Feet Special, but I thought I'd put it here as well. (It's below)

Here's the gallery I've got so far for Happy Feet; could you guys let me know if I've missed any so far? (I decided not to include the manipped poster, btw).

Thanks!

Thanks a lot Chloe! :D I don't think his eyes look unnaturally blue. They look natural, and very nice. ;D

I just don't like the adult Mumble. He looks weird, his eyes are pretty small, and I just can help but constantly be reminded that we all know Elijah's pretty short and I just can't see Elijah's voice coming out of that abnormally tall penguin. :P

By the way, when was it that Elijah mentioned they were done doing the voices? How long ago was he recording his voice?

don't quote me on this, but wasn't recording going on back in 2003? seems to me i read that info back just before ROTK came out. ::) i think they were still doing recordings up until sometime last year.

A question, has anyone been able to download the first trailer to their PC? A friend of mine wants to keep it. I was wondering if there's anywhere that it can be downloaded (which I assume it can, since people have put it on Youtube).

saturday november 11th at grauman's chinese theater in hollywood will be the premiere for happy feet. ;D

if the date for happy feet remains as opening on the 17th, elijah will have 2 films coming out in a weeks time. "bobby" is supposed to be released on the 22nd of november.

Geez, it's freaking me out that possibly up to four new Elijah movies will be coming out this winter, so close to each other. They deprive me of my regulating summer fix and yet they'll let me OD off of so much Elijah fix at the end of the year.

Guys- last night my mom was watching TV and caught a Happy Feet commercial!! She thinks she clicked in late and missed Elijah's name, but they showed Robin Williams and he was saying a line. I'm wondering if Elijah's actually saying something in this one....anyway, I missed it and I'm really kind of mad, anxious and excited at the same time.

My mom here confirms to me that there was a lot of penguin talking. DAMNIT I need to see this! :o

Taubman Malls To Partner With Warner Bros. On Holiday Snow Globes Featuring 'Happy Feet'

Monday September 18, 9:00 am ET

Interactive experience, based on upcoming comedy adventure film, to fill snow globes in 17 Taubman malls nationwide

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Taubman Centers Inc. (NYSE: TCO - News) today announced a new partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures. Taubman will showcase scenes, characters and elements from the highly anticipated movie, "Happy Feet," from Warner Bros. Pictures, in an innovative, interactive snow globe display.
(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20060918/DEM007

http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20051005/TAUBMANLOGO )

The experience is being designed and produced by the Becker Group, a Baltimore based experiential marketing company. The exhibit opens Nov. 2 at 17 Taubman shopping centers nationwide.

A Comedy Adventure, "Happy Feet" is set deep in Antarctica. Into the land of the Emperor penguins where each needs a Heartsong to attract a soul mate, a penguin is born who cannot sing. Our hero Mumble, son of Memphis and Norma Jean, is the worst singer in the world ... however, as it happens, he is a brilliant tap dancer!

Admission is free to Taubman's Snow Globes Featuring "Happy Feet." The exhibit brings to life key moments from the film and includes a 20-foot walk- through snow globe, where a cold Antarctic blast and falling snow welcome visitors to Mumble's home. Within the globe, guests can interact with life- sized sculptures of characters from the film and enjoy toe-tappin' music from the movie soundtrack.

The exhibit also showcases three-dimensional, penguin-filled "Happy Feet" scenes displayed in three, 6-foot snow globes with buttons to launch interactive elements; a walk-through 28-foot holiday tree where visitors can learn about key characters and a "green screen" experience where children can pose for holiday pictures that make them look like they're dancing with Mumble and other characters featured in the film.

Youngsters will also be able to have their pictures taken with Santa for a more traditional holiday photo.

"The snow globes are the perfect way to bring people into the world of 'Happy Feet,'" says Mimi Slavin, senior vice president, national promotions, Warner Bros. Pictures. "The snow globes transform the Taubman shopping centers into magical holiday destinations, immersing visitors in an interactive entertainment experience."

Taubman launched the Snow Globes last year at 11 of its malls by bringing to life the Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

"When the opportunity to showcase 'Happy Feet' in our snow globes presented itself this year, we couldn't have been more excited," says David Goldberg, Taubman vice president, sponsorship & marketing. "This is a perfect holiday film for the whole family, and penguins definitely seem to be riding high on everyone's best-loved list these days."

Snow Globes featuring "Happy Feet" will be at the following shopping centers:

California: Beverly Center (Los Angeles), Sunvalley (Concord)
Colorado: Cherry Creek Shopping Center (Denver)
Connecticut: Westfarms (Farmington)
Florida: Dolphin Mall (Miami), International Plaza (Tampa),

Sorry about the double post, but I didn't want to make the previous overly long.

Wish I could have gone to this party. Sounds like fun.

Exclusive: Happy Feet Party And Sneak Peek
By Lexi Feinberg: 2006-09-19

There are few things better than New York City in the fall—leaves changing color, the humidity melting away, the impending days off from work for the holidays—and to add to the list of joys, there are the parties. Not the types of shindigs where people play beer pong and fall all over themselves (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but the best kind of all: movie parties.

Tonight I was lucky enough to attend a party for the upcoming animated movie Happy Feet, courtesy of Warner Bros. When I first walked into the building, Matt Dillon was walking next to me, looking kind of grouchy. Then again, I’d probably be in a bad mood too if I had an ex-girlfriend who was shacking up with Justin Timberlake. But I digress.

The party was loaded with the goods: snacks, movie memorabilia, and did I mention snacks? Everywhere you looked in the room, there were waist-expanding treats calling your name, whether they were perfectly frosted cupcakes, sno-cones, buttered popcorn, or fresh-baked cookies. Not wanting to offend any of the caterers, I helped myself to several portions of each.

There was also a live penguin named Checkers, who you could pose next to for a photograph. The poor guy looked like he was attempting to waddle away from the hordes of kids trying to get closer, but he was a good sport about it. I thought it might be a tad inappropriate to cut in line before over-anxious eight-year-olds, so I passed on the Kodak moment.

Then, of course, there was the 20 minutes of footage from the film. Happy Feet, directed by George Miller, is a kids’ movie about an Emperor Penguin in Antarctica named Mumble (Elijah Wood) who can’t sing to save his life and unfortunately, singing is the only way to win over a mate in his community. His love-interest Gloria (Brittany Murphy) is not attracted to his screechy pipes, and his ability to tap-dance doesn’t fare much better. The outsider is cast away from his village and joins a clique of 5 Spanish penguins, aptly called “the Adelie Amigos.” The leader of the flock is Ramon (Robin Williams) and he tries to help rebuild Mumble’s wounded ego in silly ways.

From the scattered variety of clips that I saw, it looks like it will be a fun movie for the young’uns. As for adults, well, that’s another story. Let’s put it this way: if Robin Williams makes you chuckle when he’s in his hyperactive “On” mode, then this is the movie for you. His portrayal of a stereotypical fast-talking, wise-cracking Latino will be hilarious for some, painful for others. But on the plus side, the CGI is pretty incredible, and it has some fun musical numbers (Brittany Murphy can do more than play a convincing psycho—she can belt out a solid tune, too).

On the way out of the party, the press reps were kind enough to give us promo t-shirts featuring big, happy penguins on the front. Who couldn’t use an extra night shirt, right?

Happy Feet will hit theaters this holiday season.

Well I see, the release is exactly the same day Elijah was supposed to be at the RingCon in Germany. I really really don't want to be rude and I wish the movie the greatest success but to be an honest girl, I don't like the movie even if I haven't seen it, because it brought my greatest dream ever down. I was going to meet Elijah and it will not happen because of the Hollywood premiere of Happy Feet, they are not happy feet for me.
I want a happy heart and not happy feet. :'(

now sis, if happy feet turns out to be one of the best animated films of the year, and lots of praise is heaped upon it, much as it is now, and it hasn't opened yet, you still wouldn't see it? your love for elijah goes much deeper than this doesn't it? :)

Today I bought some Goldfish crackers I saw in the grocery store because they had Mumble on it and the whole Happy Feet hyping shebang. Someone can instantly win a trip to the premiere of Happy Feet in specially prized packages. ::)
LOL I'll bet I know someone who's going to be eating a lot of Goldfish crackers in the coming weeks. ;D

Well, never say "never." I always thought the same thing and then last September, there I was at the NYC premiere of "Green Street Hooligans." You just can't predict what the future will bring.

I knew you were going to say "never say never". ;) That phrase is such an oxymoron. The person who says that has instantly said never anyway, twice!!

You have a good point though.

For any of you who are near a Blockbuster store, they're going to have a lot of promotional tie-ins with "Happy Feet" -- including merchandise. Think: the tap-dancing Mumbles toy! Yay!

Blockbuster pushes Feet in stores
Retailer part of marketing for theatrical run of Warner movie
By Cindy Spielvogel 10/10/2006

Happy Feet arrives in theaters
on Nov. 17.

OCT. 10 | Blockbuster Video is stepping into the marketing of Warner Bros.’ Happy Feet earlier than usual—during the movie’s theatrical run.

In November, Blockbuster will support the theatrical release of Happy Feet with in-store signage, displays, employee crew wear, an online sweepstakes and game and store events.

In-store promotion will include everything from dancing penguins to photo stations.

“Blockbuster has the unique ability to establish a major thematic presence in-store and online,” said Curt Andrews, senior VP and chief marketing officer for Blockbuster.

The company plans to focus on one or two such marketing programs each year.

Coming to theaters Nov. 17, Happy Feet is a family comedy about a tap-dancing penguin and features the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Hugo Weaving along with the dancing of Savion Glover.

The movie also will be promoted on Blockbuster’s in-store TV network and through member newsletters and direct mail.

Blockbuster stores also will carry Happy Feet licensed merchandise, including a plush toy, games, videogame and Happy Feet-branded Blockbuster gift card.

Cross-promotions with other Happy Feet marketing partners also will be part of the program.

i got this alert this morning and found it a little interesting.

BUZZ: With a cute young protagonist and a zippy, danceable soundtrack including contributions from Prince, Chrissie Hynde and the Brand New Heavies, Hollywood insiders think Warner could be sitting on a major family hit. Still, audiences are showing signs of fatigue with wacky cartoon-animal films, and many of them probably saw "Ice Age: The Meltdown" this year.

even though they say they think this will be a hit, do you think the public is getting tired of seeing animated movies about animals?

They'll be around until they stop being able to make money off the public. Which I'm not sure will happen anytime soon, because people love animals.... and stupid Hollywood movies. ::)

I'm not saying this movie is stupid, but I'm not going to support it 100% either just because Elijah's in it.

Hey everyone! I just thought I'd pass ona little Happy Feet information to everyone. I for one cannot wait for the movie to come out! ;D

I am sure many of you are familiar with Build-A-Bear Workshop. Ever since I was a kid, I would go there with my sister and brother and make little stuffed animals. Heck, I will admit it, I still do it! ;D I know they have stores around the world. If you are not familiar with it, then you can visit www.buildabearworkshop.com for further details.

I received a little catalog in the mail from them and on November 9th, you can make your own Mumble! It's adorable. I don't think the website has info on it yet. Along with Mumble, you can purchase a stuffed Gloria, Ramon, and Lovelace. They are soo cute! I know I will be doing this. Hehe, ah how the kid in me prevails! ;D

I saw HBO's "Making of Happy Feet" tonight and it was terrific. If you have HBO and didn't see it yet, here's the schedule:

Wednesday, November 8 -- 8:45 PM
Friday, November 10 -- 6:15 PM
Saturday, November 11 -- 9:00 AM
Tuesday, November 14 -- 10:15 AM
Tuesday, November 14 -- 8:45 PM

(All times eastern USA)

It's only a 15-minute show, but Elijah is in it a lot....on camera, talking over movie scenes and, of course, in scenes from the film.

The animation in simply incredible. I think this is going to be an extraordinary movie.

Do they give an Academy Award for animation? I can't remember.

Haunted, you can click on the "Modify" button in your first post then add something to it (like what you wrote in your second post.) That way you don't have to double post.

Thanks Haunted for the upload, I'm DLing at the moment. :D
I hope it'll work (connection is a little slow tonight)

There is a clip online which shows Elijah and Robin etc. signing autographs at the premiere (the one that Angel posted) and today this clip was shown on TV here BUT without Elijah... ::)

i can't believe....well, yeah i can, all the wonderful reviews for happy feet. one review calls it a non-biblical epic. rotten tomatoes gave it 100% on it's meter. that's a good thing despite the name of the site. :)

angel has collected many of these reviews in her journal if you'd like to take a look.

Title: ‘Happy Feet’s’ Elijah Wood Dances Around Hobbit Past
Post by: Elijahs Impact on November 16, 2006, 05:43:10 am

Sorry if this has already been posted but I couldn't see anything.

Oh, to have starred in a landmark film trilogy and still suffer those pesky Hobbit comparisons. Elijah Wood must wonder if he’ll ever escape his “Lord of the Rings” legacy.

“Oh, here we go. Here we go,” Wood said, trying to stifle a smile at the first question from reporters at a press conference regarding his role in the digitally animated “Happy Feet” (in theaters tomorrow).

So what is the connection between Frodo Baggins and his lonely journey in Middle-earth and Mumble, Wood’s unwelcome penguin at the South Pole?

Mumble can’t sing like all the other penguins, but he can tap with his “happy feet.” Mumble, too, makes a lonely journey.

“I don’t think that there is much of a connection, but I’m sure that you can read a connection into that if you’d like,” Wood said.

Anything else?

“Fluffy feet.”

While Mumble has Wood’s enormous blue eyes, Wood actually can sing.

“My voice is not nearly as bad as Mumble. I thought that I did a pretty competent job of singing poorly, but they actually digitally made it worse. So when I saw the film and knew what I had done, I thought, ‘My God, they made it sound horrendous.’ It’s wonderful.”

As for those tapping feet, Wood said, “I’ve got rhythm, but I wouldn’t call myself a confident dancer.”

In “Happy Feet,” Wood worked with Robin Williams, who voices two penguins, and Brittany Murphy, whose singing is good as Mumble’s love interest. Nicole Kidman, with a breathy Marilyn Monroe imitation, and Hugh Jackman, channeling Elvis, bring Mumble’s parents to life.

“Robin and I were lucky enough to work together most of the time. It’s not always that you get to be in a room with the other actors, and it really helps to make the scenes come alive.”

In several ways, “Happy Feet” may strike some as a music-filled, animated version of the Oscar-winning “March of the Penguins” documentary. But its story of the brave little oddball has a point that won’t be lost on moviegoers.

“An outstanding message for young people,” Wood said. “It’s these things that separate us from each other - like Mumble not being able to sing but dance - that are ultimately the things that make us who we are. That’s something to be celebrated.”

Yeah!! I'm so happy - I've only heard good things so far. Unfortunately the film will be dubbed, but since I live in a bigger city now, I might be able to see the 'original'. There's a really beautiful cinema in the city, it's completely illuminated with these wonderful colours. :D

Thanks Vix, I hadn't seen this article before. :-*

Who has seen Mrs. Doubtfire? I just had vision of Robin and Elijah standing next to each other in the recording studio, having gallons of fun! ;D

An outstanding message indeed esp. these days - thank you to our brave little oddball (said with affection) for pointing it out. :-*

I’m happy to say that I went to the matinee showing of Happy Feet and I absolutely loved it. I had planned to go tomorrow with my husband but he wants to see the James Bond then so I’ll let him have his way. I however, couldn’t wait to see this movie so I went today.

I was a little concerned at first because in today’s paper, our movie critic only gave it a C rating and said it was mediocre; he had compared it with Babe and March of the Penguins, which I hadn’t seen so I had nothing to compare it to. There were a couple of scenes that were pretty intense for young children but they passed quickly. I only wish they had used Elijah's real singing voice and not messed with it as I’ve never heard him sing. But when his character does sing…oh my goodness, it’s hysterical. The animation and choreography was superbly done and the music (the critic complained it was too much) was wonderful. I was enchanted; everyone must go see this.

As I was leaving the theater, a small boy of about 5 came up to me and said he liked watching the penguins dance, and quite seriously asked if I liked it, then he did a little sideways shuffle for me; he was too cute! I can see children begging to see this one again.

i saw it today too. by the end of the movie, i kid you not, children were standing up and dancing! :)

it was absolutely wonderful, and i'm not just saying that because of elijah's involvement. this movie has a lot to say. the visuals are amazing. there were parts that i still can't figure out if they were animated or not.

there are some intense scenes like chuckie said. i jumped once myself. it was endearing, heartbreaking, funny and a great time.

go see it! i will again tomorrow. ;)

Just saw it a few hours ago. I went with a group of people who wanted to see the HP trailer (which was, by the way, awesome. with the exception of the Harry/Cho kiss. ew.)

ANYWAY...

Happy Feet was perhaps the most adorable movie I have ever seen. Soooo cute. And Elijah was perfect for the part. Even though it was just his voice, the penguin still looked like him.

Best line: "I will eat you with ketchup!"

I watched this movie with my jaw dropped for most of it, and with Elijah not on screen, that says a lot for the visuals. Absolutely stunning, and to use one of Elijah's favorite words, amazing! The detail is incredible. Sometimes I had to look really hard and remind myself I was watching animation. It's that good.

As to the story, and the music, I adored this film! Sometimes I can tend to get a bit disappointed in a film when I am as spoiled as I was for this one, because my mind has already made my own version, and there were some differences here between what I expected and what the film delivered. But they were in no way disappointing. And apparently, the many other viewers who saw it with me were not disappointed, either. There was rapt attention from adults and kids alike - I just realised that I didn't even hear kids chattering like I feared I would; now whether that is because I was so enraptured or they were, I can't say lol! - sprinkled liberally with anxiety and laughter.

Elijah had confessed to getting misty about 20 minutes in, and while I didn't cry, I did start to tear up a couple of times. And I spent a good part of the film with a fist wrapped round my heart and squeezing, both for sweet Mumble's suffering and for his quest.

Loved the music (I'd been listening to the soundtrack for a week) and was thrilled to see how it was incorporated in the film, though I confess I would have liked to see Gloria get down with "Hit Me Up". "Boogie Wonderland" exceeded my expectations. Flawless animation for that sequence. Adored the dancing penguins during the credits; I always stay through all of them since LOTR.

And apparently tap is contagious... during the credits, I witnessed random acts of tapping from kids, teens and adults alike.

MUMBLE!!! *dances off to another thread*

the animation is pretty amazing right? my jaw dropped as well not knowing if it was animated or not. :o

one thing i noticed about the penguins, in particular, mumble is that he only molted partially. he didn't fully gain is beautiful colors, but while partially showing his baby feathers, it came off looking like a tuxedo jacket.

so.... maybe they were going for a fred astaire impersonation. ;)

Title: Re:The HAPPY FEET thread
Post by: overlithe on November 18, 2006, 01:37:58 pm

I was just as awed with the animation as everyone else, i went with my sister to a late afternoon show friday...so two women in their 40's with not a kid anywhere that we could claim we were there with..not that I particularly care..after all I sat through LOTR at least 10 times alone, having run out of worthy movie partners.

But what struck me is how, like Lith I'd have loved the mumble character even if it was not Elijah's part...But I was struck by how very alike Mumble is to Elijah..not so much that he is outcast though he most certainly is not part of the dicernable hollywood crowd, that is his choice. But lets, face it Mumble obviously was a late bloomer, like someone else we know...he marches or dances to his own perverbial drum...as does lij.....He learns to be himself no matter if that is what is usual or not and he because of his own self awareness finds his place in the world....some close similarities there....no wonder he was attracted to the role. ;) loved and I can't wait for DVD and also to see the box office numbers....the holiday week is coming up and there isn't much worthwile out there for kids...so it should do really well.

OH, and how could I forget Ramon' gotta love Robin Williams. Also lol, I'd wager this is the first film where Elijah was referred to as the big guy, tall dude..ect hanging out with the little guys, I wonder if everyone will stop thinking he is 3 foot 6 now.... :P

GAAAAHHH, just saw it!! ;D

It was amazing, absolutely amazing. :D As I type this fast the keys sound exactly like little feet tapping away, I swear. You know how Elijah said he almost started crying in the first 20 minutes? I felt exactly how he felt! For a little kids movie, the beginning especially was so....emotional. Poor baby Mumble, shunned by everyone, all alone, and "heartless" me who doesn't cry in any movies got misty-eyed and blubbery. :'(

Ah, it was so funny, some other parts, and when Mumble and the little penguins were all slipping down the icy mountains like a frickin' roller coaster I was like YEEHAH!!!

There were so many messages and lessons to read into as well. Although the part with all the people debating about the penguins was, lets say less-than-subtle political stance, it was good. Beautiful ending. My family loved it too. ;D

For once I actually encourage all the hype and advertisements for an animated film like this. People MUST see it. And I applaud Elijah for being a part of that film. *applauds*

Hehe. And I thought it was just me, tap dancing on my keyboard lol. Mumble seems to have that effect on everybody. ;D

My grands were still tapping today when I joined them for my youngest's 2nd b'day party, especially the oldest one, who is 8 and a half. He came up to me and said, "Look, Gramma, I've almost got it!" and proceeded to tap his little heart out. hehe

I gave my youngest little birthday boy a tap and talk Mumble, and his mom and dad gave him an Elmo that had personalized dialogue programmed into it. Guess which one my grand loved more - Yes! Mumble!!! He kept coming back to it all afternoon, and at one point handed Mumble to me, pointed to his little fuzzy belly and said, more clearly than he can say most things, "I like that!" All his brothers wanted to play and interact with Mumble too, so Happy Feet is definitely a hit with my family.

Silly as it may be, I have a warm, glowing feeling of pride that Elijah is a part of this wonderful film. Think I'm gonna have to see it a couple more times on the big screen, too. :)

Lith, which one did you get for him? Amazon.com has two. One is $54.95 and the other is $29.95, but I don't see enough differences between the two to justifyl one costing $25.00 more than the other.

I don't suppose either of the talking Mumbles have Elijah's voice, do they?

Happy Feet is # 1 again this week at the box office according to NBC. It’s so nice to see Elijah get top billing in this hit, over Robin Williams and Nicole Kidman.

! 1. "Happy Feet," $37.9 million.

9. "Bobby," $4.9 million.

I attempted to post a link to the article but I’m not certain how to do it. Sorry.

:o get out! really? well, i'm glad you enjoyed it. it's a wonderful film. as far as the dvd info, it's far too early to tell when it will be out. it all depends on its run in theaters.

i'm sure lots of extras will be included on the dvd when it does come out. so far, it's too much of a success for it not to. :)

I just got my Dec 11 issue of People and immediately opened it hoping to see a picture of Elijah from the London Happy Feet premiere but they only had a picture of Nicole Kidman from that premiere, calling it “her animated penguin movie” This is the #1 movie in the country for the last two weeks and Elijah is top-billed and the other top stars were in the movie more than Nicole, why no mention of them!

I just e-mailed People about this. I wonder if they’ll respond?

I know they did. I didn't send a nasty e-mail, I just reminded them that there were several other stars at the London premiere and it would have been nice to see them as well. I mean in this magazine they had a two-page spread about Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton's drunken partying. They can show some positive news about others, especially with this movie being so hot right now.

An interview Elijah did while he's been in England since the "Happy Feet" premiere.

Kicking the Hobbit

Elijah Woods is sufficiently comfortable in his profession not to mind being told how well he resembles a penguin - and one who can't sing. He talks to Steve Pratt about his latest movie and never metions little people with big feet.

ONLY after Elijah Wood has left the room do we realise that the words The Lord Of The Rings haven't been uttered during our chat. This can mean one of two things: that we, the assembled round table of international journalists, have failed to ask an obvious question or (and I like to think this one is true) Wood has far too many other new things to talk rather than rake over past successes.

He has no need to dwell on the blockbuster screen trilogy, in which he played leading Hobbit Frodo, and the success of which propelled him to global fame. He's managed to kick the Hobbit, so to speak, and move forward with a screen career that shows he's capable of more than playing a little chap with big feet on a quest for a ring.

And how does he choose to escape the shackles of Frodo this time? By playing a penguin in computer animated hit Happy Feet - and a tap-dancing penguin who can't sing at that. He voices the role of Mumble, whose lack of singing ability makes him an outsider in the vocally tuneful world of Emperor Penguins in Antarctica. Mumble compensates for his bad voice with his amazing tap-dancing.

Even more surprising than Happy Feet beating the new Bond movie, Casino Royale, at the US box-office is, perhaps, the fact that Mumble actually looks like Wood. "I've seen the film twice and I guess I see the eyes are mine, but people seem to think it really looks like me," he says.

The voice artists were filmed while recording their lines, so the animators can be excused for making Mumble resemble the young actor. "When I'm watching the movie, I'm not paying so much attention to that. I feel like I'm watching everything. When you spend three years in a studio recording the voice, the spectacle takes over. Maybe I need to take a greater look at it," he says.

Wood has been acting long enough to be gracious when asked if he looks like a penguin. He took his first screen role when he was eight and now, still only in his mid-20s, has accrued an enviable CV that includes, not just The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, but such films as Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Everything Is Illuminated, Sin City, The Ice Storm, Deep Impact and Flipper.

One of the appeals of Happy Feet was Mumble's emotional journey - "his innocence and purity but more importantly his sense of himself," says Wood, obviously taking his penguin performance as seriously as doing Hamlet.

"You have a character who's essentially an outcast, yet he's not bothered by that, it doesn't break his spirit. In fact, it ultimately defuses who he is, which is very admirable."

He thinks everyone can relate to feeling different from others in society. For him, it happened in his early teens when he felt older than he was, older than his peers and separated from them.

"I was working as an adult and had been since I was eight years old," he explains. "Ultimately, I grew into myself and that ceased to be an issue and I didn't feel separated from anyone any more. At that time of growth where you look to your peers, I couldn't really relate to them. It wasn't a problem at the time, but there was definitely a feeling of being different."

But he doesn't feel he missed out on childhood because he was working. He credits his mother for that. "She really made sure there was a healthy separation of what I was doing as an actor and what my home life was," he says.

"Childhood is relative as I think most experiences are. I don't think the word 'normal' makes any sense because normal is a relative thing. So it was normal to me, and enjoyable to me. I was travelling around the world and getting to work with and to meet so many interesting people.

"At a young age I was exposed to all sorts of music which I was intrigued by. I was having very enriching life experiences and then I'd go home, ride my bike and have a - quote, unquote - normal childhood at home.

"I never felt I missed out on anything. In fact, in many ways I feel like I gained much more than I would have had I not been an actor."

Filming the three parts of The Lord Of The Rings back-to-back in New Zealand occupied several years of his life. Since then, he's taken on a series of not-necessarily-star roles in interesting projects, feeling excited about the different opportunities coming his way.

He reels off the names of "really interesting film-makers" with whom he'd like to work and actors he admires. He cites Eternal Sunshine as being "so awesome", saying that "to be part of that creativity, even on a small level, was really exciting".

He'd like to get more involved in production, developing projects that he may not necessarily act in. Passionate about music, he's started his own record label as part of his aim to follow some of the things beyond acting in which he's interested.

He found it fun to have to sing badly as Mumble. "We played around with all sorts of different things and different ways of breaking my voice. I had a blast doing that, it was great," he says. And just how difficult was it for him to sing badly? "It's pretty easy," he admits.

As for his musical tastes, he's a huge Prince fan, and a fan of the Beach Boys and likes Queen a lot. "The music in the film did take an evolutionary turn. It was always going to be music in the dance sequences but over time developed a life of its own, constantly changing and evolving," says Wood.

"I was always curious what songs would be used. I'm a huge fan of music and wanted to make sure there was some really good music in the movie, so I would often chime in about this and that. I don't know if that had any great influence.

"George Miller (the director) keeps telling the story about one particular song they were going to use. I can't remember what it was but it was awful and I said, in a polite way, 'maybe you shouldn't use that song, George'. They talked about it and it didn't go in the movie."

Happy Feet, for him, isn't just another computer animated movie. He sees the themes of individuality and community as important. "Children have to deal with conforming regularly at school. It's nice to be inspired to see your differences ultimately make you what you are," he says. "And if kids can walk out thinking about some of the environmental issues in the film, that's great."

* There are preview screenings of Happy Feet (U) in cinemas today and tomorrow, and the film goes on general release on Friday.

Yes, several journalists and not one mention of LOTR must be something of a turning point for Elijah; if people just give him a chance, they’ll realize he’s a fascinating person with many interests.

great interview and yeah the funniest part is the press patting themselves on the back for not mentioning LOTR. Well we all knew already that Elijah is much more than any one character he embodies.

And is far too smart to become type cast. Perhaps one day everyone else will see it too.

This film does have its critics doesn’t it but I agree with what Alan Horn says about the film primarily being about entertainment. I think people try to make these things too complex.

I don't understand the date of the article which is 12-2-06 as I though the British release was last week.

YAY! ;D

Happy Feet finally premiered in Australia today! ;D

Brittany Murphy and George Miller (the director) were there and were both flanked on both sides by inflatable penguins!

They also had actual baby penguins in a tank!! ;D

I really liked this quote from Brittany on her character, Gloria:

"I didn't care whether Gloria was a human, a zebra, a marmoset, or a penguin; She is an extraordinary character to be able to play, so strong and sassy, feisty, loyal, and a diva in the best sense of the word."

"song of the heart" won last night at the golden globes for best original song! :D

but alas, the film itself lost to.... cars? :P

Cars was where I split hairs. It's very conflicting. One the one hand, it's a pity those were the only acceptional good animated movies this year amidst the rach of cheap crappy CG movies.

It"s all in the message.... Environment takes a back seat to the car and gas,..... sorry I'm being so cynical............ Happy Feet was 10 times better with animation than Cars............ I saw both. Loved both........... but Happy Feet sent an environmental message that people do or do not agree with......... I guess most people in Hollywood went for the other message........... old town USA revitilized........... whatever.

Actually, it's a Hollywood awards show, and in general they are democratic and liberally open-minded, and usually tend to throw a bone to landmark liberal-type movies (e.g. Brokeback Mountain). But in this case I think they were a little biased because Cars was a Pixar movie. I really don't see what the attraction is to Cars. The whole premise is just so ugly, including the locations. And Nascar?? Whatever. (not that I've seen Cars)

But I'm not going to rule out the unfortunate fact that Happy Feet's plot has been criticized to be contrived and incoherent (not necessarily having to do with the environmental message itself, but part of a cocktail of mixed-up messages and storylines which includes that message).

Not that it's that important. At least they got nominated.

I agree on the liberalization note. I didn't even like Brokeback Mountain. Sorry, just didn't. the whole cache was the "Love" scene and they were drunk!! The flying leap just entirely ruined it, and I don't like Heath Ledger.

Actually, you should see Cars. I know the premise didn't seem all that hot, but really, deep personal message cute characters, it's all there. It resembles the an old Disney cartoon about a little blue coup named Susie. Pixar really never lets ya down, and I like that they try to put a spin on things. That's their major cache besides story and quality. But we're getting into another passion of mine...long story.

I didn't really see any plot problems, but then I wasn't really thinking about it in those terms. Next time I see it I will. Actually, my cousins had heard (although she wasn't sure it was about Happy Feet, but she was pretty sure) that some radio was saying the movie supported gay marriage because the outsider with different "mating practices" was allowed back into the community and such. Talk about contrived...

I've seen both Caars and Happy Feet. Maybe I'm biased...... but even though my opinion doesn't mean much...... I think artistically Happy Feet was monumental compared with Cars...... I just think PIXAR is the darling of Hollywood....... so ..... they go for the sure thing..... nothing liberal at all.

I hope it wins the oscar to balance things out, to be honest. I'm all for fairness. I don't know why Monster House keeps getting nominated alongside it. I guess to make the namination quota. It was just as crappy as all the other ones this year...

I got the soundtrack for my birthday last week. SOOOOO "happy" i got it!

Cross your fingers. Our paper today said that "Cars won the 34th annual Annie Awards honoring achievements in feature film and television animation." It goes on to say that "The winner has gone on to claim the Oscar for animated feature every year since the Academy Award for animation was created."

Here's hoping they're wrong this time.

I'm just glad it all evened out. 'Cars' got the Golden Globe and that other animation award that escapes me right now, and Happy Feet got the Oscar. Everyone is somehow satisfied.

In my opinion, it was a hard choice. Both are so well done, and both have a great theme to them. In Cars, it is about knowing where you really belong in the world and not letting people get left in the dust. Happy Feet is similar in finding one's place in the world, as well as the environmental factor

BTW, what's all this with some people disliking it because they think it's pushing a political agenda? Could someone please make some sense of this?

it's stupid really. these people think an animated film should be impartial. it should be fun, happy and entertain the audience only. adding a message in would only cause confusion for the younger crowd. but it's the children who are going to change things (hopefully for the better) in the future. the message is important, and i for one am glad they did it. :)

Title: Re:The HAPPY FEET thread
Post by: Blue Star on February 27, 2007, 04:37:51 pm

What's even more ridiculous and stupid about it is that cartoons have been making messages and morals for generations, in just about every Disney movie you can think of, and especially in Bambi, where there's a lot of environmental message in the end. They don't raise their blood pressure about Bambi, now, do they? ::)

I don't know, I'm just apalled and baffled by the kind of extreme mentalities going on right now in America that pick on a movie that's not really different than other good cartoons. It's a step in the backwards direction, I can tell you that.

Has anyone ever put Oscar stuff onto DVDs? I can't really imagine it. They'd probably have a problem with that too. ::) I'm just really p*ssed at the academy for being so uptight about YouTube. Other TV companies and such don't go around pulling videos because they realize it's free publicity. And if you miss the footage, how the heck else are you going to find it? Why are they trying to rip us off?? Why don't they rerun the frickin' Oscars?? I can't find any channels that would do it. It's basically a policy of 'If you miss it, you'll never see it again in your life, have a nice day'. ::)

I've never seen anything from previous Academy Awards shows on DVD. At least if I have, I don't remember. I suspect getting all the necessary clearances would be a real nightmare.

I wonder if the clip might be on the "Happy Feet" DVD if it was ready in time to be included. They certainly can't include it otherwise because the DVD would have been completed by the time the Academy Awards took place on Feb. 25th.

there's about 4 different film companies who have characters from that clip. it's probably not likely it would be on the happy feet dvd or maybe any others just for the reason of company bragging rights. ::)

I see that HF is being released for sale on 3-27-07; that can't be enough time for them to add that clip. I'd hate to buy the DVD only to have a more “complete” one offered a few months later.

Title: Re:The HAPPY FEET thread
Post by: magicdancer on March 03, 2007, 08:26:28 pm

Well, as deenan pointed out, there would be so many clearances necessary because of the other elements included in the clip that it would almost certainly make it impossible to put this clip on the DVD.

I'm hoping they will include the "Making of Happy Feet" feature that ran on HBO. It was wonderful.

I was just poking around at my DVD club website and they are offering Happy Feet at a special pre-order price. However, according to the description there of extra features included....there aren't any! Only an interactive feature if you watch it on a computer.

I think I'm going to hold off and see if a "deluxe" or some other special version comes out later with some real special features on the disk.

my goodness you're right! :o i just looked at amazon and nothing is listed for the dvd. but i'm hoping that will change when the release date is closer and some extras are included. they don't even mention what kind of audio it's in or if subtitles are included and i know there has to be subtitles. :P

Awesome! What a relief! :D There should be no animated film without special features.

Now this DVD is worth buying. :)

Happy Feet is freaking beautiful/awesome...rather offbeat in the storytelling, a gorgeous voice for the protagonist, and it helped me discover my passion for dancing :-D

My copy is on the way! It might be here tomorrow, but I can't pick it up (I live at school) because I don't have time to go pick it up between classes. Why do I have such heavy class days on tuesdays?!?!?! But I will probably go get it while at work on wednesday, good thing i can go run errands when i have nothing to do (which is about 80% of the time)

At least my copy of "Crystal Visions" by Stevie Nicks got here ahead of time. It's a good week for stuff!

i wondered why this was brought up again. ;)

that's wonderful news! imagine, a year later, and the movie is still picking up awards. i bet this makes george miller very happy. and now that this is up again, i've been wondering about a sequel. wasn't there mention of one happening?

Thanks so much for posting this Plutonic. ;) And yes Deenan there was mention of a sequel but I'm not sure what's happening with it now. Usually Hollywood does make a sequel even if the first film didn't do so well and this film did phenomenally well.
