Title: If He Wasn't Iggy, Who Would You Like Elijah To Be?
Post by: Blue Star on September 18, 2005, 10:16:46 pm

This came up in my head fairly recently. We all know what happened with the Ian Curtis thing, which I was so excited for but now since I know more I don't think it would be all that.

What musician would you just die loving if he played him? For me, I think it's young Lou Gramm from Foreigner. I'm such a huge fan of that band, ever since I was like, 7. It's such great music and Lou Gramm sounds like Elijah to me. The same type of voice. Plus in those early years, Lou had the same kind of bug eyes and nice features and I would LOVE to see Elijah try that blonde long curly do. ;D Those are some of my favorite songs of all time right there. He has a really great voice.

I'm not really sure where this should go, so if it needs to be moved that's fine with me. :)

I don't think I would want to see him as a musicican in the movies but maybe a fictional character from a different time.I am in love with the regency period(Emma,Pride and Predjudice,etc...)and i would love to see him try this.Even though women of that period had very little to do I love the outfits and stuff.I think Lij could do this.Ewan Mcgregor already has done it so I'm waiting for my other favorites to try.

Well, Blue Star, Boston and Foreigner are two of my absolutely favorite groups, but I don't think I can imagine Elijah playing Lou Gramm. Lou does have big, beautiful blue eyes though.

On the other hand, I can definitely visualize him in a "period piece" along the lines of the Merchant-Ivory films. *thinks of Elijah with long hair, ruffled shirt, coat with tails, knee-high boots.....swoons*

I don't know what kind of role I'd like to see Elijah in. It's hard to imagine him as a musician in a band I'm into, he doesn't seem to have the right build, but it'd be cool to see him as a performer. :)

He could do anything, really. He's so versitile.

The beauty of Elijah as an actor is that you never know what to expect, you could be thinking that you'd like him to do a play perhaps and bam! he announces Iggy, or Paris Je t'aime or even Bobby, one more different than the next and that's part of what I love so much about Elijah as an actor! :D

Do you see some resemblace between BJA and Elijah? :)
I remember reading a discussion about how these two shared some similarities a few months ago. :)

I don't think he'd take part in a movie about green day, since he thinks they're overrated (although I like them ;)), but in fantasy, everything's possible. :D

I was just thinking too,he already has the sidburns to do the period piece too! :D He can keep the short hair also since some didn't have long hair then. Please put him in regency piece. You can just see him ridnging through the fields on his horse to court some young lady in waiting. "sigh" ::)

p.s.the pants that they wore in the regency period also shows "packages" quite nicely. ;)

I can definitely see a resemblance...but why make a movie about Green Day starring him when they're not really too old and Billy Joe might as well play himself?

Overrated???!?! Why, you...... *shakes fist angrily*
Elijah and I have the absolute opposite tastes in music. :'(
Oh well. That's not what matters. ;)

Lij should do a play Dr. Frankenfurter in a stage version of ROcky Horror Picture show!

Most classic rockers are rawboned and sort of rough-faced, so he couldn't really impersonate them well. The good ones tend to make up for it in charisma.

Mr. Darcy would be cool, especially if he could summon up the necessary haughtiness.

I would still like to see him in Shakespeare -- Claudio, maybe, or Ferdinand. Maybe Orlando, or Hamlet, or the King of Navarre...

I very much agree that I would like to see him in a period piece. I think the last time he did one, it's really not the morally best idea to fantasize about him :-X

I don't know if there is a musician i'd like him to pplay. I think he is too short to play Lindsey Buckingham, although a lot of people think I look enough like Stevie Nicks to play her :-*

I'd like to see who he would like to play, honestly, and just see where that'll take him.

You're right, Blue Angel!! I didn't think about that if that is possible!! ;)

If he were to play any other musician, how about Jim Morrison of The Doors?

He could have "Frodo" hair again. ;D I think Jim looks gorgeous in these photos and somehow his intense stare reminds me of Elijah, especially in the cover photo.

Iggy is very thin, but Jim got pretty heavy before he died. I don't think I'd want to see Elijah in a "fat suit" though. But on the other hand I don't want to see him become overly thin to play Iggy.

I like the Morrison idea! They both had arresting eyes and similar jaws, I think. I could imagine him with a bit of muscle and makeup as the Lizard King.

The only snag is... wasn't Morrison fairly tall?

Title: Re:If He Wasn't Iggy, Who Would You Like Elijah To Be?
Post by: magicdancer on October 24, 2005, 02:21:54 am

Yes, Seven, I think he was fairly tall. In photos with the other members of The Doors, he is not shorter than any of them. Ray is tall and skinny and Jim is as tall as Ray. It's amazing what they can do with camera angles to make an actor look taller, but to do that for an entire film.....it would be a stretch. (LOL Sorry, no pun intended)

Quote: I could imagine him with a bit of muscle and makeup as the Lizard King.

Hmmm, uh....yeah, :o Elijah slithering across the stage underdressed and made up as the Lizard King.....meep! *conjurs image*

It's not a rock star but I'd LOVE to see him play Will Young
