Title: Who should interview Elijah?
Post by: Kapha Woman on September 26, 2010, 06:53:46 pm

Who would you like to see interview Elijah on TV that you haven't seen yet? I know he's done Leno, Conan, Ellen, Caroline Rhea, several British shows...I was wondering if he'd been on Oprah or any other daytime shows. I'd love to see him on a show for the entire hour!

There is a TV show in Spain called "El Hormiguero" where Elijah would suit so well. It is quite crazy and full of humour...
Few weeks ago Will Smith, Jada and their son Jaden visited it and it was amazing...

If 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross' was still going, I'd have loved to have seen him on that.

Ember - Elijah was on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, when Happy Feet was coming out. It was quite a nice interview. :)

It might not be an interview, but I would have loved to see Elijah on Never Mind The Buzzcocks (an English music-based comedy quiz programme). I think he might have been quite good on it.

this is a cool question. i like when elijah is interviewed a bit more seriously like when he's appeared on tavis smiley a couple of times. that being said, i'd love for him to be interviewed by larry king for the hour.

he's never been on oprah so i'd like to see that or with barbara walters. i like when interviewers get inside the head and ask serious questions... just like I would. too bad i don't have a talk show. ;)

I agree! I love Never Mind The Buzzcocks! Although, it's not as good since Simon Anstell (sp?) left... ): But yes, I think he would have been good! :D

If Friday Night with Jonathan Ross the same thing as Friday Night Project with 2 British guys as hosts? (I'm in the U.S.) Fortunately there are youtube clips of Elijah's entire appearance.

Oh yeah I forgot about Larry King--that would be an interesting, if very serious interview!

At least if he went on Oprah that would be seen worldwide. Since it's her last season she has something up on the website asking people who they'd like to see on. Of course I made my best case for Elijah!

No, The Friday Night Project and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross are two seperate shows. FNWJR was more like a chat show, where they'd just talk about things, and the Friday Night Project was slightly more...well, random! That may be slightly wrong, but FNWJR has finished now, and I've never seen the FNP, so...

I think it'd be awesome if he went on Oprah! :D

I would love to watch Oprah or Larry King interviewing him. I just watched an interview Oprah did with J.K Rowling that was very nice. So I would find it very interesting if she had a long talk with Elijah! :D

i haven't been able to find the video.... yet. but i'll keep looking.

another one i'd like to see elijah do a nice long interview with is james lipton of "inside the actor's studio." that show is awesome and james a wonderful interviewer. he really gets down to the nitty gritty of questions. and i'd love to hear elijah's answers to lipton's regular questionnaire.

1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on?
4. What turns you off?
5. What sound or noise do you love?
6. What sound or noise do you hate?
7. What is your favorite curse word?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Tell me... you wouldn't be related to the Woodster would you Karin? ;)

^^^ I think we all know what Elijah's most amazing oft-used word would be. ;D

And I must say he's not backward in the curse-word department either :-X (especially during and post-NZ era) - yet coming from him, swearing usually sounds more endearing than offensive. 8)

Anyway... In Australia, our 'premiere' interviewer is probably Andrew Denton. Incredibly intelligent and quietly spoken - yet witty - Denton has a great knack for getting into the heads of his famous subjects and drawing them out so that they reveal things to him that wouldn't have dreamed of sharing with another interviewer.

I'd love him to interview EW for that reason, as Elijah often seems quite guarded in interviews (understandably perhaps) with a 'pat' line in celebrity-speak. I think Denton would be able to glean new insights into Elijah's psyche, his fears, hopes, dreams etc.

Regarding past interviews:

I once saw Elijah, Viggo and Peter Jackson in a group interview with Charlie Rose. However, Viggo pretty much 'hijacked' the screen-time in order to argue his personal political viewpoint (not that I disagreed with him). Meanwhile Elijah seemed somewhat out of his depth.

On the other hand... one of the most adorkable interviews he ever did was with the hilarious Graham Norton, who threw everything at the Woodster in an attempt to embarrass him on national TV. ;D (In the nicest possible way of course ;)) That interview is still up on youtube in 3 parts IF there's anyone here who hasn't seen it yet.

What turns you on? That's very freaky!
I wonder what the look on his face will be when he hears this. He would say with a chuckle "Excuse me! Oh, whoa!"

The questions are awesome!

i can see where that question could be freaky, but a lot of the answers from other guest haven't been. things like playing with my child or seeing a sunrise have been answered. i think elijah is aware of james' 10 questions at the end. :)

thank you karin for the video. i should have known you would have it. ;)
