Title: Tragic Life Stories
Post by: elizabeth coffey on September 12, 2009, 08:31:06 am
I read these types of books to get better insight into abused children's lives. I am thankful that I grew up in a loving family. I have read several starting when Marks mum gave me some to read a couple of years ago. I have also bought several.
I was just interested in other peoples views on these type of stories. |

| I've never read any, mainly because I prefer books that are funny in some way. I'm not saying tragic life stories are a bad idea - maybe writing their story gives the people a degree of comfort - but just aren't the sort of thing I would read. I read for enjoyment and I think, rightly or wrongly, that reading sad books would depress me a bit. |

| I understand your view mary. But I always like to reach the end so I know the person has survived and is happier in their lives :) I get no enjoyment from reading them. |
