Title: 70s-80s music!!
Post by: raquel19 on April 11, 2010, 07:58:35 pm

Hey everyone,
I'm really into the 80s now. I just can't listen to music now because they don't mean anything to me these days. Well, some artists are great :)

You know any song that is really good?
If so, please say the artists name and the song.

It can be useful for me and others, who are into 80s and can discover other artists they never heard before.
Thank you.

here are some:
I wanna dance with somebody - whitney houston
billie jean - michael jackson
beat it - michael jackson
living on a prayer - bon jovi
right here waiting for you - richard marx ( i think)
eclipse of the heart - bonnie tyler
Tarzan Boy - Baltimora
Forever young - alphaville
Take on me - a ha
footloose - kenny loggins ( i think)
girls just wanna have fun - cindi lauper
:)

I'm really loving The Jam (around late 70s, early 80s?), The Smiths (80s) and The Clash (70s-80s) at the moment. Maybe because their music (at least, in my opinion) still sounds as relevant and as fresh as it probably did when it was first released - it hasn't aged, I don't think. My favourite-ever Bob Dylan album is also 70s stuff, 'Desire'. You should check it out. :)

Queen is my big favourite.
The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky.
Roxette.

Toto, A-Ha, John Farnham, Cyndi Lauper, Tears for Fears, David Bowie.

I wish I lived in the 80's ::)
But I wasn't even made then. Gah. 90's....

Marit - Can't believe someone else besides Aussies have even HEARD of John Farnham! :o I met him at a CD launch back in... 1990 I think it was (now that's showing my age 8)).

Can't say I was into a lot of the 'pop' that was on the radio back then either though... David Bowie from 70s thru the mid-80s was my idol! *loves on the Thin White Duke*

Other faves were The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet (how embarrassing!), The Clash, Sex Pistols, Echo & the Bunnymen, Soft Cell, Billy Idol (again... :-[), The Police - I could go on and on!
