Title: Vampire Weekend?
Post by: redstar1 on January 09, 2010, 04:46:06 pm

I think they're a unique band. My aunt was the one who dragged me to a concert in St. Louis two years ago. (in September '08) At first I thought they were kinda' weird... but then later, they started to grow on me a lot.

I heard all of them are really nice, and I bet they are! I can't wait for their second album that will be released on the 11th and 12th of this month! :D

Vampire Weekend! :D

I first got into them with (as most people probably did) with 'Oxford Comma' and 'A-Punk', which were moderate hits over here in the UK...I loved their quirkiness, as well as their great lyrics, almost like poetry. So I got a hold of their album, and loved them even more. :)

Can't wait til the new album, 'Contra', as well. :)

Vampire Weekend is awesome! Their new album got four stars in Rolling Stone this week! Great, great music. I was really surprised when watching Nick and Norah to find that they had a single in it! Which is school because that soundtrack had some pretty good music on it. I'm glad they are getting more recognized.

Oh my gosh... Contra came in the mail today. I'm listening to it right now and flipping through the songs and they all sound amazing! :D

I find it odd because it was supposed to be released in UK today, and the USA tomorrow. I guess my aunt ordered it from the United Kingdom. ^^;

But still. It. Rocks. My. Socks!

I wonder if Elijah would like Vampire Weekend?

You're lucky, Allie! I'm glad it sounds great. I can't wait to get a copy! The album is actually streaming on their website at the moment - just go to www.vampireweekend.com, and click 'play all'.

For anyone who's interested, 'Horchata' is actually free to download on the website: go to: http://www.vampireweekend.com/horchata/ and click where it says 'download without signing up'. I love it!

^ They are unique, aren't they? :)

I got the new album last week and I'm really enjoying it. I think there's a good mix between very upbeat stuff and slower songs. :)

I've only heard a couple of their songs... I'm a Vampire Weekend newbie. Can you guys recommend anything?

^ Well, my personal favourites are 'A-Punk' and 'I Stand Corrected' from 'Vampire Weekend', and 'Horchata' from 'Contra'. :)

Hey thanks Mary!

I checked out your recs, and I really liked the first one, cute vid too.

As for Horchata - yarg! (except the drumming, that was cool)
