Post by: ladollyvita on March 17, 2004, 05:40:43 pm

NME announced the lineups (so far) for the major british festivals today:

Reading/Leeds: White Stripes, The Darkness, AC/DC, The Vines, The Libertines, Courtney Love (maybe)
Glastonbury: Paul McCartney, Prince, PJ Harvey, Morrissey, Oasis, Outkast.
V Festival: The Strokes, The Pixies, Kings Of Leon, Muse, Primal Scream, Massive Attack, NERD.
T In The Park: David Bowie, The Cure, The Strokes, The Pixies, Kings Of Leon, Muse, PJ Harvey, Franz Ferdinand, Chemical Brothers.
Isle Of Wight: David Bowie, The Who, The Libertines, Jet, Manic Street Preachers, The Charlatans, Stereophonics.

most but not all are confirmed, some just strongly rumoured.

So, who's going where?

Im doing Reading and V like always. cant wait!
Wish i had the money to see Bowie and The Who (oh my god) at Isle Of Wight!

Aww thats when i first noticed him too. aged 3! looove that movie.
he was my first love.. that masquerade ball scene... nyaah.

I suppose I could hop on the train.. but it would mean giving up the white stripes at Reading. And i have never seen them live goddamit.

i've never seen the white stripes either. but i've been told they're pretty dull live. maybe it's best not to see them. avoid disappointment ;) AND GO TO T FOR BOWIE. hehee.

i'll bring this topic back to just festivals in general then.

ROck werchter (belgium) has gotten the european prize for best organized festival.
just read that.

I'm going there this summer (hopefully) on the friday (2nd of july)
which mean i'll miss plavebo and the pixies and muse, but hey, life's a bugger.
on friday they have : metallica, korn, the darkness and lost prophets. i'll live with tah ::)

erm i dont know at the moment but i will tell you when i find out i definatly heard the lost prophets are going to be there because i went through a lets-find-everything-about-them phase after seeing them ever so close up :P they were goooooood lol anyway * coming back from dream land * the white stipes are there i think this year because last year they dropped out cos thingymibob had a 'throat infection'
so if anyone knows whos lined up tell me if i dont get there first...

NOBODY has actually been confirmed for Reading/Leeds yet. Its to early, but those strongly rumoured are The Darkness, AC/DC, the Libertines, The Vines, Courtney Love, Franz Ferdinand and the White Stripes have said they will definetly play to make up for last year when they had to pull out because Jack had badly injured his hand after a car crash.

I reaaally want The Strokes to go but they're already doing 3 British festivals so I'm not sure they'll make it. Curses. Does anyone know the exact date tickets go on sale in the ticket offices (ie- not on the internet)?

Thought I would bring this thread up again because the Reading/Leeds line-up has been announced! The Darkness (bleugh), Greenday, Offspring, Hives, Morissey, White Stripes, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, 50 Cent (what's with that?), Ash, various others. Anyone got tickets yet?

Ugh yeah. 50 Cent. bummer. They always have one token 'urban act' (wasnt last years Jay-Z?) I was hoping it would be NERD or Outkast!!

Other than that im pretty happy, The Hives!! Morrissey!!
