Title: Having to sign in every time.
Post by: Catz4Elijah on July 28, 2004, 06:01:38 am

Hi

I never used to have this problem it's just the last few days.

I tell a&f 'always stay signed in' every time I log in, and yet when I come back here after 24 hours I have to sign in again.

It's no big deal I just wondered if there was a reason ???

For me it's just the same. On other boards I frequent, I'm always loggeg in without needing to type my password every time.

Jochen changed the coding of the board or something so most people have to log in everytime, whether or not you checked the 'stay logged in' box. He did that to better show member's last logins.

I hate that. It's such a pain to have to sign in everytime.

It's a way for the staff to see if a member has received our PMs, among other things. We use this feature to check up on trouble members, not regular members. :)

yeah, having to log in all the time is a pain :P, but I guess it's a small sacrifice if it's for the good of board ::)

You could sign in than save the home page in My Favorites. That's what I do and I never have to sign in.

I've done that, but I still have to sign in.

I'm used to just signing in- the 'stay logged in' thingy never worked for me. Glad to know it's not because I'm a reject. :) Lol.

BTW- I use it to see why people arn't updating their stories/ stop updating without telling us. If they havn't logged in for three weeks, I assume that's the reason!

Yes. Most members are not able to stay logged in. Even the moderators can't. It's mainly for staff purposes. So we can keep track of when certain people have signed in, etc. I know it's really annoying and everything but it helps the moderators and admin with certain things.

I was starting to wonder if something was wrong with my account. Good thing I found this thread. ;)
